At the risk of being accused of *always* jumping in to agree with you, I've
found that to be true too. I have so many odd knives that came with
different sets in a box in the garage. They're there because I never use
them.

I need to garage most of the collected knifes in my drawer. I got a brand
new, USED, Magna Wonder, that I got off eBay. Showed it to someone and cut
my finger. I don't think it saw any use. Full serrations and very sharp. I
replaced my moms Magna knife I've been using, which is much flatter, worn
serrations.

I've had a few of those "attacking utensils." Best to garage them for sure.

I've only ever had two sets. One was a gift and it was horrible! When we
lived in CA, I was struggling to cut up a watermelon. So my dad got annoyed
with me and said he would do it. Then after some cursing, he said, "Why
don't you get some GOOD knives!" I then told him that it was the set that
he had given me. And it was fairly new. All of those knives were a problem
from the start.

My next set was the Wusthof and although good in the aspect of being sharp,
they have been very defective. And the blades are sooo very thin which I
think may be part of the problem why they break so easily. This set was
made specially for the military commissary. Never again! I rarely ever use
the bread knife out of there but only because I rarely have the need to cut
any bread. And I rarely use the Chef's knife.

Actually I did get one smaller set. sw had posted the Woot here about it.
Leopard print. Little paring knife and another with a rectangular blade.
Not sure what it is called or what you do with it. So never used it. But
they are hella cute! And they are Khun Rikon and I like that brand. Have
some other, similar knives with covers on them. I tend to use those more
than anything. Maybe because of the colors. Not because I think they are
better knives. I do seem to use the paring knives more than anything. Next
in line would be my kitchen shears.

I have been thinking about it and might just get rid of my knife block and
use the other knives. The knife block is starting to look pretty ratty.
It's a bit old. Would free up some counter space. But need to find
something to put the others in. Right now they're just on the counter in
front of the block.

If your Wusthof are defective, you should contact their customer
service dept.
I was gifted a Kuhn knife a few months ago- it's like a 6" paring or
utility knife, and I am pretty happy with it also- kinda surprised me!

I did and they replaced them. The replacements are no better and I don't
want any more of them.
