Such a stance isn't helpful to our country. Two party is the system
we've got. Shaking your head and saying there's no point in
involvement is the short road to our country's downfall.

With all due respect, it is just sad to hear an attitude like that.

With all due respect (i.e. none), as soon as anybody gives two squirts about what your backward hick ass thinks about our country, I'll let you know. ****.

Most often people who have your take on politics adopt that attitude
because if frees them up from reading, listening, and following what
is actually going on and most importantly it frees them from having to
get out and make a decision and vote. Just sayin'

They have many parties but unlike other industrialized nations,
they don't elect any of them. Canada has five parties sitting in
the House: Conservatives, Liberals, New Democrats, Bloc québécois
and Green. True the Green party member is the leader and sits
essentially as an independent (because you need so many members to
get party status) be she was elected and is doing a great job
compared to some of the other numbskulls.

They don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning and drain votes
away from the candidate that should win - the result of a split vote
puts the other party in office which is even worse for the country.

That was the general idea and look at what happened. The party that
won started two unfunded wars, created a situation where a petroleum
company thought it could wreck the environment of the Gulf (and
elsewhere) with impunity and they're still pushing the Keystone
Pipeline. Rational people in the other party have learned their
lesson and will work within the system we have now, not go off and
form splinter parties the way people who live in other countries
*think* we should.

Why do you think the Tea Party still hasn't split from the Republican
party? I'll tell you why: there's strength in numbers.

Half MY people? You're not an American?

I can explain how GWB stole the first election, the second was because
Kerry didn't turn out the vote. Minnesota even gave one electoral
vote to Edwards! As far as the red states go, sheeple can be
manipulated into voting against their own best interests. When you
only hear the Faux news talking heads slant on current events,
eventually you're going to believe it's the God's honest truth. Look
where the Keystone pipeline is going. Right through Bush/Cheney-land
and over a very sensitive aquifer. A rupture in that pipeline will
pollute the aquifer and they will squawk to high heaven about poor
little them, mark my words. Oil companies (+ the Koch Bros) don't
care a whit about people or the environment, they only care about
corporate profit and how to manipulate sheeple into letting them do
whatever they want.

It doesn't, but then ours isn't a whole lot better either, despite
having a third 'option' which is basically the same as the other two.

I don't live in that part of the country, so I don't know what choices
they have. I do know that Fox is preached from the pulpit and I know
that if that slant is all you hear, you tend to believe it's the
truth. I do know that some teenage whiz that was the darling of the
conservative party when he was in high school, but changed his mind
after he went to college because he had more information to draw from.
