You wonder why a man would mess with a woman who is an expert on using
knives and fire. I also wonder why she puts up with him.

I saw that on the news. If he does that in a restaurant, what
the hell is he doing to her behind closed doors.

I don't get why she'd be anywhere near him.

Evidently he choked her 4 times during that 'argument'. Nobody
would ever do that to me.

listening?

As you can clearly see, battered woman syndrome happens in all stratas
of society and personal power and money does not make women any less
susceptible to physical abuse. The poor thing didn't have a good
relationship with either parent, so she's a textbook case.

Oh, so when it's a British subject you get all upset - but when
Aussies and Brits read shit in their tabloids that happens in the USA
and post about it here, then it's okay. Hm.

You'd perhaps be the type then that ignored a man choking a woman in public.

I read it yesterday in a British newspaper, not a tabloid, and some
have stated he is a control freak and perhaps her eclipsing him is
what set him off. Doesn't matter what set him off he had no right to
do that. Although she has made no complaint to the police they are
supposedly looking into this incident.

So sad to see her in tears, but get the hell away from that guy

I don't know, I'm sure everyone who saw was really conflicted about
what to do. And if one person did or said anything, a bunch of
people would have intervened.

I really wish she didn't stick around for more of the same.

Yes, I just to see women mistreated. They need to be put in their
place from time to time. Or maybe you could resist twisting my
comments into something you prefer? I could have sworn I was talking
about tabloids.

I'm saying that in the unfree kingdom there appears to be rampant
apathy, tinged with an undercurrent of cowardice.

I have every trouble ignoring a man abusing a woman, ymmv.

I do so appreciate your permission slip for matters clearly beyond your
proximate control.

You may file it with the remainder of your impotent gestures here and
proceed with defining yourself as you best see fit.

Toodles.

Yep indeed.

Somehow, you managed to twist this into an anti-american bias thing
once again, when never in a million years did I have anything remotely
like that in mind. I couldn't care less where she is from - she is
just another vacuous celebrity to me - like all the others. And I have
no time for them. Hence my comments about tabloids.

Now, YOU cite one example of ME criticising americans on here.
Put up or shut up.

I'm tired of playing with kid gloves with you... you're as irrational
and fickle as they come, and I'm tired of it. I'll say it again,
you're a ****ing idiot. Goodbye.

I certainly do not condone that sort of behavior, the point I was
trying to make was more along the lines of her being a celebrity and
this being just a little on the sensationalist side of things... more
grist for the tabloids... and sorry, I include virtually all
newspapers, regardless of where they may be in that category.

Did I say YOU did? I said you've never made a comment like that when
it's one of your own posting shit about Americans

Do whatever you want - it's no skin off my nose and you've only
exposed yourself for the hypocrite you truly are.

"One of my own"? What, I'm now obligated to comment on, or am somehow
responsible for what any other Australian chooses to post here?
You're insane.

You know damned well I've gone out of my way to ignore a certain
Australian who posts here, I'm guessing you are referring to him in
this context, so why the hell would I comment on his posts? I don't
even see them. Don't make me responsible for other persons posts.
Jesus H... can't you see how ridiculous that concept is.

Your response was:
"Oh, so when it's a British subject you get all upset - but when
Aussies and Brits read shit in their tabloids that happens in the USA
and post about it here, then it's okay. Hm."

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Such a delightful combination of
arrogance, ignorance and stupidity. As you can see, I haven't K/F you
yet... I just want to see you construct an intelligent argument for
you point of view first.

I thought you were done with me, which usually means the bit bucket.
Now be off with you, hypocrite.

Suit yourself. Your lack of an answer to my very valid question says
it all. Be off with me? I don't think so, you hypocritical,
shriveled-up old ****.

Maybe, but we don't know what people were able to see or hear. Or if
any did anything.

One possible reason was in the article:

"The 53-year-old chef and her millionaire art dealer husband"

You never know what really goes on. I'm not an expert, but I've read
about couples staying together under rather harsh circumstances. "He's
really a great guy when he is not beating me" I've know a few
seeming smart women that got tangled up with real losers.
