Default Thinking ahead to the 4th of July (and trolls)

Thinking ahead to July 4th. There will be a "celebration" by the
outdoor pool. The employees at the Club will be serving grilled pork
ribs, fried chicken, grilled bratwurst, burgers, grilled vegetables.
Too bad there aren't any grilled or fried trolls on the menu.

Sides will include potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw. Assorted
chilled greens with ranch and balsamic dressings. IOW, the usual
picnic-fare for a large gathering. Desserts will include watermelon and
a variety of cupcakes. It's summer, grandkids have been dropped off
while their parents go elsewhere do something fun. LOL I'm thinking I
should buy a new swimsuit.

I've k/f'd all the nasty cross-posting trolls. It would really help if
everyone would stop feeding them. Or at least throw them on the k/f BBQ.

That sounds like a nice gathering! Bring a book, hang out by the pool,
and people-watch.

I haven't planned a menu, but we will likely have hamburgers, hot dogs,
grilled corn on the cob, and watermelon. We always make homemade ice
cream for the Fourth of July.

I haven't thought about it yet. It will definitely be something
cooked outside if any cooking is done at home (We're scheduled for
temps as high as 107F for the next week) Maybe we'll go some place
that has air and eat something casual. Your's sound fun.

I might just do that. I've got plenty of books to read. I'll need
to buy some heavy duty sunscreen. The sun and I don't agree with each
other.

I really miss grilled corn on the cob. Have a great 4th!

We usually eat the same things. Choice of hamburger or hot dog, bun or not.
But I also bought some chicken and cheese burgers this year from Costco.
Also baked beans and raw veggies. And at some point during the day, chips
and/or popcorn will be eaten.

I've never understood the cooking outdoors thing. People tend to do it when
it is hot. When it is hot, the last place I want to be is outdoors! Unless
perhaps it is cooler in the shade. But I sure don't want smoke from a BBQ
coming at me.

It's better than heating up the house with cooking. When I cook on the
grill just for me, I'm only outdoors to flip or check on things.

Yep, I only go out to turn or move what is on the grill. I often also
grill vegetables when I'm grilling meat. Split summer squash is really
nice when grilled. And I do include zucchini in my definition of summer
squash.

I use my grill all year, even when it's below zero outside. I'm not
going to light my grill for two burgers but when cooking for a crowd
it makes more sense to cook outdoors.

I don't mind standing by the grill until everything is cooked... I

Summer squash comes in all colors, sizes, and configurations... search
burpee.com for <summer squash>... of course bidnits knows zero about
food/cooking.

AFAIC, summer squash is soft skinned. If you can steam it, or boil it
and eat it skins and all, it's summer squash. When grilling it I just
brush it with a little neutral oil (Extra virgin need not apply) and
season lightly with salt & pepper. In the case of squash I do have to
watch it so it only gets lightly browned rather than "cremated".

Just gotta wonder why he's so obsessed with me. And yes, there's close
to a 10 year span between those pics.

If I'd known the papparrazo was going to snap a photo I'd have worn
something else. I'd also have put on some makeup. Maybe if my troll
searches enough he can dig up a picture of me when I was 2. I was
absolutely adorable at that age.

I'm sure you are! OB Food: The second pic was taken on the deck at The
Foolish Frog [restaurant]. Lunch was delicious. Battered and fried
shrimp served with house-made potato chips and a tangy cocktail sauce.

I guess I'm supposed to be embarrassed because gee, I'm 10 years older
and didn't go to a professional photographer. My troll friend
definitely hasn't gotten any more mature.

That pic was taken at The Foolish Frog. Lunch that day was battered

I actually like your more recent pic better than the old one. Natural pics
are the best. I also prefer to see women looking natural with little or no
makeup and dressed casual. Seriously. Glamor shots with all the makeup,
heels, etc usually turn me off. I like my women au natural. You look very
nice and friendly in the recent one. It's a good photo, imo.

Just curious....what does your bracelet say?

I pretty much quit wearing makeup. I do always wear nail polish even if
it's only a clear or neutral shade. And once in a while I will wear lip
gloss. I realized that I had a problem with it when I put it on and my
MIL's caregiver said, "Oh! You've got your makeup on!" That was a big
clue. I have very pale skin and I've been told that I have a peaches and
cream complexion. Whatever that means. But I noticed when I put on makeup,
I lost my good coloring and began to look a bit mask like. Then I would of
course have to add blush. And I was like... Why? I have a natural blush!
I think I look better without it but... I have stubby little eyelashes.
Unfair because my brother got the nice long ones.

You both are innocently/accidently maybe dissing Jill here.
Why do you assume that should embarrass her?
I think she looks better in the second picture.

Why do you bother? Just asking.
Painted nails kind of freak me out too.

> And once in a while I will wear lip gloss.

I can understand a moisturizing lip gloss but not for makeup reasons. Stuff
like red lipstick turns me so off no matter how hot the woman is. It's
weird to me.

> I have stubby little eyelashes.

A tiny bit of mascara can fix that.
For me I don't care for much more makeup on a woman except maybe some light
mascara.

I'm a beach guy. I like natural beauty beach girls.

The OP only said, here she is then and here she is now. He never made a
comparison. You and sf did. He did say "better days" but that applies to us
all.

I took the second pic as that better one.

BTW...who the hell posted those? Kind of stalker/creepy to me.

I never wear make up either. I am told I have a very good skin, so no need
to cover it up I haven't worn make up since I was a teenagers and that
was *cough* a few years ago

Maybe you don't know that Earl is a troll that only exists to
try to bug Jill. There is no question what he was trying to do,
and he failed miserably.

You are my kind of girl, Ophy! send pics.email me (my addy is correct)

And actually, it would really be nice to have an updated webpage showing
*recent* pics of everyone here, rather than that old outdated page.
I always like to see exactly who I'm responding too.

If we do this, and you want my old-ass, 60yo, picture, I'll have to take
about 20 self-shots in order to find one that I like enough to send. I've
never been very photogenic and it gets even worse as I age.

I like the short hair in the second photo. Good looking woman. Now,
Earl, post you photos so we can comment on them.

Good luck with that. If he had a positive opinion about himself he would
not be stalking Jill.

It's a medical bracelet. It has my name engraved on one side next to a
caduseus. On the reverse side it says I'm allergic to sulfa drugs.

Thanks Ed, but my hair isn't short. It's pulled back in a scrunchie.

I usually don't bother. For many years I got up an hour early to put on
makeup before going to work. I finally wondered, why am I doing this?
Long gone are the days when I got up early every morning and put on
foundation, blush, mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner. What a routine! I
discovered I'd rather sleep that extra hour.

Good for you! I've always had pretty good skin, too. The most I do
these days is pat on a little translucent powder and some tinted lip
balm for moisture. And that's only if I feel like getting gussied up.

I always use moisturiser, but never anything else. Hey whatever feels
good

I prefer the JAP look with hooker red nails... but I'm really not too
fussy so long as their bra and panties match and they are not Playtex
white cotton. I'm partial to silver lame, these are hot:
