The "true vegans wage war with the "dietary vegans." They spit on them for
"co-opting the cause" just for the sake of being healthier. So they cannot
see eye to eye even with their own. I've seen at least one vegan though put
her own heath at risk. Having bones as porous as a sponge she nonetheless
refused calcium supplements because at one time they formed the shell of an
oyster. I told her at one time they formed the bone of a dinosaur and that
calcium recycles infinitely as do all minerals. But no, the holy vegan
mindset demands absolute purity in all things. She would not buy a natural
soap product because after doing an extensive research into the owner's past
she found his great, great grandfather's third cousin twice removed owned a
plow horse. OK not quite that bad but it was almost as silly.

Lest ye die.

I am not a vegan, or even a vegetarian, so I can't bear ill will against
them for having betrayed the idiotic cause. However, I can scorn them
for having gone through the selfish self indulgent fad in the first
place. We had one one our family, showed up here unexpected at a family
gathering, and arrive late and without the vegan food she was apparently
going to bring. My wife had to go searching for something that she could
eat. She pored over every label to check all the ingredients and
rejected just about everything, including my wife's delicious salad
dressing because it has a tiny bit of Worcestersauce, which contains a
bit of anchovy. A year or two later we are at a buffet and she is
chowing down on beef, ham, chicken, fish, shrimp,....

There was a case in the UK recently where a couple, who had been vegan for
~20 years felt unwell and the Drs couldn't understand it in view of their
"healthy" diet. One day they decided that perhaps the diet was the problem
and ate some meat. Hey presto! within days they were better.

Our canines are all but vestigial. Humans can survive quite well without
meat. Vegan is quite hard to do right. The fact that most of the strident
ones are batshit crazy is proof they are deprived of vital nutrients.

Vegans draw blood! You're just shunned as an ex-Scientologist or
ex-Amish.

My son has a friend that he calls "the evil vegan." We recently went to
the mall to see him attempt to eat a 5 lb burrito. He had 30 minutes to
do this but he ate the whole thing in 15 minutes. Truly, he is the evil
one.

Irrational zealotry seems to be all the rage these days, in all facets

It gets downright silly when it comes to not eating honey because it
involves exploiting animal labour. Bees gather honey and make honey for
the younguns. Bee keepers give them good homes in return for their
labour. Vegans don't seem to mind being able to benefit from the labour
of other humans, so why should they care about a bee who lives to do it
does... make honey.

We used to be able to keep most of them under control. Modern media and
the internet allow them to network way too effectively.

True vegans in every sense of the word can be quite annoying. I went on a
raw vegan diet once. Those people are the worst! Not only do they argue
about what is vegan but what is raw! Most would not use toothpaste,
shampoo, antiperspirant or a lot of other things. I was invited to a
potluck of theirs but did not go. I knew I would be judged with my leather
purse.

When I was on the raw vegan diet, I was not anal about it. I could not eat
any eggs or dairy because they make me sick. I later learned that chicken
and all fish/shellfish do too. Which perhaps is one reason why I felt
better on this type of diet. But due to my gastroparesis/slowed digestion,
I did not do well with the amount of raw veggies that I had to eat to keep
the calorie count high enough.

However, if we went out to eat, unless there were obvious choices on the
menu, I didn't care so much if it was raw or vegan. I would of course try
to get some raw veggies. But if they had cooked kidney beans, I would eat
those. I would eat a hamburger patty and fries. Or some chili. The raw
vegans would have been furious because they feel that any deviation from the
diet will do unbelievable harm to the body. Me? I think if you eat
right...whatever is right for you... most of the time, it's all good.

Indeed! And using their own theory, they shouldn't eat any fruit or veg
that was pollinated by bees. Right?

If you know they're vegan... then they're annoying.

After a few years living off the land now, I've learned that if you
have fresh organic (and free range) produce, be it meat, veggies,
fruit/berries or whatever, then you can't go too far wrong.
Worrying about raw/v.s cooked, 'cholesterol' or what is highest in
antioxidants or whatever really isn't an issue.
(Aside from specific allergies, of course).

I used to buy cacao beans, wheat grass, maca powder etc etc... the
only supplement I use now is cod liver oil.

Oh don't worry. If they are vegans you will know it very quickly.

and being ex-vegan is like shaking that bottle.
Kindly dont be profiling Raw Vegans. Or you could wind up like poor old George. They run the gauntlet from devil worshiping tree hugging Alfgore witches to born again Christians. They all march to a different drummer. The good guys out number the problem children many times over. Get a grip. Thanks.

You have to slather them with BBQ sauce just to make them palatable.

I hope everybody knows not to eat toxic raw kidney beans.
