Default Almonds, again

I'm back to Blue Diamond almonds. I found a good choice. Their Natural "oven
roasted" sea salt almonds in the pale teal pkg.

<http://store.bluediamond.com/30-oz-Oven-Roasted-Sea-Salt-Flavor-Almonds_p_111.html>

They're roasted and crunchy and have very little salt. Actually, the
pkg sez 135g sodium per serving, but since they're oven roasted and
not covered in a sheen of deep fry oil, very little salt sticks and so
one ingests considerably less than the indicated salt content. I
think they are perfect.

Beware, though! These Naturals are not the same as Whole Natural, a
mistake I jes made. The whole natural almonds are so natural, they're
almost inedible. NOT roasted, NOT salted, NOT peeled/blanched, etc.
They're naturally tasteless!! ....and soft, too. Now I gotta gag my
way through a whole lb of 'em. bleh....

Why don't you roast them yourself? You could even add some salt if
you wish.

I don't really understand. Are you recommending them or not?

Personally, I don't care for raw almonds, but I like them dry-roasted,
unsalted, which is how I buy them from TJ. I will have to try roasting
them myself sometime, though ...

I prefer all nuts raw or sprouted. Preferably sprouted but those are hard
to find. Yeah, I could do it but prefer not to take up counter space with
sprouters and a dehydrator.

Exception would be peanuts which I know are not really a nut. Raw?
Pyyyuck. And I did once get some kind of imported nuts called jungle
peanuts. They were expensive and not tasty. Like they were trying to be a
pecan and failed.

heh heh.....

I highly recommend the "Natural" oven roasted almonds w/ sea salt.
I don't care if it's sea salt, that's jes the way they are sold.

I do NOT recommend the "Whole Natural" almonds, which are near
tasteless dreck.
