RIP Hydrox ![]() Agree. I never ever liked Oreos. Did not mind Hydrox although they were never a favorite. But Oreos and pretty much all of the other sandwich cookies lost me when they changed the formula for the filling. It became like sweet Crisco. Ick! |

I like the mint and lemon Oreos. They've been on sale so I've been buying them - a lot. |

I use crushed Nutter Butter cookies for my "Reese's Pieces Cheese Cake" crust, but I don't particularly like them as a cookie. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!search/rec.food.cooking$20and$20reeses$20pieces$20cheese$ 20cake$20recipe/rec.food.cooking/Sklj_7bF7JY/nPaJdRGV97IJ My favorite cookies are the sesame seed cookies from a real Italian bakery... Italian pignoli cookies are good too... a close runner-up are the almond cookies from a Brooklyn Chinese restaurant. |

Nutter Butter in it's two forms is great. One of these days, I'll have to figure out which one is the best. |

They had Nice biscuits, Bourbon Creams, Digestive, Shortcake, Ginger Crisps, Fruit Creams and various assorted types. They used to be very good and I remember that they were produced not car from where my grandmother lived in Toronto. About 10 years ago they went rapidly downhill. I was going to write and complain about them but when I search online for an address I discovered they had been bought out by Kraft. That explained the problem/ I didn't bother writing. I just stopped buying them. |

Maybe it'll be by the mac n' cheese. :-) |

Abomination? You bet! It might have been tasty but I wasn't game enough to have a go at it. Taiyaki is your standard bean-filled fish-shaped snack but putting an Oreo in it messed up it's DNA. |

Alot of Indian/Pakistani/Arabics are moving to Canada and apparently those cultures have a love of English style cookies! |

I can only handle one of those. A taiyaki is a Japanese snack that is cooked in a fish shaped waffle iron. Typically it's filled with sweetened bean paste or custard. The one I saw had an Oreo stuck in the fish's belly. That's just plain goofy. Oreos seem to be having a resurgence in popularity in the US and are getting to be pretty popular worldwide. My guess is that you'll be seeing deep fried Oreos soon. I've had some. They're tasty. I can only handle half of one of those. > > -- > > -- > > http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/shop/ |
