I bought a jar of marinated artichokes at Aldi a month or two ago (it
seemed like a good idea at the time) and I don't know what to do with them. I think I was planning to use them for pizza topping. Are they good for that? Or chop them up in a Caesar salad? Or chop and toss with linguine and garlic and dried tomatoes? Or... To use them on pizza or in a salad, do I rinse the oily juice off first? Bob |

They are delicious chopped and tossed with chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. You can add vinegar, onions, herbs, and so on to taste. All of your ideas sound tasty. I wouldn't drain them before adding to a salad; just adjust your dressing accordingly. Maybe drain, but don't rinse, before topping a pizza. Tara |

I usually drain them and sometimes use the marinade in making a vinaigrette style dressing. Also do the same with marinated mushrooms. George L |

The pasta idea wouldn't fly with me either. Not a fan of that marinated flavor, but it seems like they would be okay in a salad (not Caesar) tossed with Italian dressing. -- I take life with a grain of salt, a slice of lemon and a shot of tequila |

Can't remember though as it has been many years since I made it. |

Nowadays, it is likely soybean oil or worse. drain it. |

Just pick them up with a fork and pop them in your mouth. |

I do like them in pasta dishes, say, with chicken and peppers type of things, and I also use them in what we call a tailgate sandwich which might actually be a muffaletta. nancy |

I slice marinated artichoke hearts in half and wrap each in a thin slice of good ham. Fine for a composed salad too... would also be a shame to chop them, sliced in two is all that's necessary, and should be obvious to use the marinade as a dressing... 'bout half the time I nosh them straight from the jar... save the jar of marinade in the fridge for a wedge of iceberg and sop up the leavings with crusty bread. Do I all the time have to teach yoose how to eat? |
