Grilled Ratatouille 'salad'. Got the recipe from Bon Appetite'
http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/20...atouille-salad Here are the veggies right off the grill..photo is a bit fuzzy. https://picasaweb.google.com/Sitara8...73940264414002 Grilled a nice London Broil to go with the ratatouille salad. https://picasaweb.google.com/Sitara8...73965306730818 Here's the finished, plated dinner. https://picasaweb.google.com/Sitara8...73970353476802 Nice, easy meal for a Summer's evening. Neither the steak nor the ratatouille has to be piping hot to eat it. Flavor is actually better cooled down a bit. |

Tonight will be taco salads -- ground turkey with taco seasoning over a crispy green salad base, topped with salsa, cheese, and crumbled corn chips. Tara |

I took a 1/2 lb of good Straub's ground beef which hey just ground for me when I purchased it an hour before and added a bunch (maybe 1/4 cup?) of fresh chopped basil, a finely diced large fresh mushroom, a dashk of Worchestershire, two dashes of red wine, a dollop of BBQ sauce (off the shelf) and a tsp and 1/2 dried onions (of which I have a buttload!). As I was making it up I started thinking "This is way tgoomuch basil and stuff!" but it was actually very good! Oh and I ground a bunch of black pepper on each side as I was cooking it. I purposefully omitted it becaose I felt I had too much stuff in the ground beef anyway. But I know having eaten it that the garlic would have worked! John Kuthe... |

I would top the grilled veggie mixture with crumbled Chevre. |

My dinner was simple as in some stuffed shells I made up and froze over the winter for easy meals and only have to think ahead enough to thaw some spaghetti sauce. Meatless meal. Shells stuffed with spinach and ricotta. We're heading back to warm weather but most of this past week felt like late fall rather than August. -- CAPSLOCK–Preventing Login Since 1980. |

It was one of those grocery store promotions at Piggly Wiggly where you could buy a piece at a time when you shopped. That china set has been everywhere. It was originally a complete set for 12. I've reduced it a bit through breakage and the platinum edging on the plates has faded and some are chipped or cracked. That china set is my everyday stuff. I use the heck out of it. It's real bone china and if I had managed to keep it pristine it might be worth at least a buck or two !! :-) |
