Default the automatic jam & jelly maker arrived today

My Ball Jam & Jelly maker came today!
http://www.seriouseats.com/2012/11/g...er-review.html
The con side of that article is a "pro" for me because I don't want to
make huge batches of anything.

I ordered it because it was on sale plus I got another $30 off for
opening an Amazon credit card - so the price came down to what I
thought it was worth paying. In any case, I didn't expect it to
arrive until next week, but it got here in two days anyway via
Amazon's free delivery (not Prime).

Talk about packaging! If there's anything physical wrong with this
thing, it won't be Amazon's fault. I had to open three boxes before I
could start stripping of all the rest of the packaging. Assembly... I
screwed up what little assembly there was - I needed to attach the
knob to the lid using a screw they provided. I thought it was not
long enough to go through all the layers and make contact with the
knob - but it turned out there were bumps needed to go into slots and
once I figured that part out, all was well with the world.

Now to decide what to make first. I have more plum-peach puree
waiting in the freezer to be made into jam, but I have plenty of that
made already, so I'll probably turn the jalapeno's I have in the
refrigerator into jam today.

In the mean time, it's Christmas in September!

Cool!

Small batches (4cups) are perfect!

Something with raspberries, agave and a smidge of seranos is knocking
around my head...

Are you going to put Barb out of business?

Seriously, how much use do you think you'll get out of this thing? Xmas gifts?
Raffle prizes?

LOL, you're right! I'm normally a real tightwad when it comes to
kitchen gadgets like that, but I've been making jam this summer. I
also have a DD and DIL who live nearby that would borrow it. I think
I will get my money's worth, considering a decent jar of jam costs at
least $3 and nothing on the shelf tastes as good as homemade. What I
like about this thing is it makes small batches - six cups max.
