@verizon.net says... > There was no reason to post the info and then not say he would be > dying soon... she made it sound like a simple urinary problem. No, she did not. First mention of him; L said, he is an older man, an incontinent mess for the past 10 years, unable to get out, and she does not want to do terminal care ever again. What part of that sounds like a simple urinary problem ? Janet UK |

All of it, especially ongoing for 10 years. Most people, male and female, suffer simple urinary problems for many years because they don't think it important enough to seek medical help and/or are simply embarrassed. Don't you see all the ads on TV for men to buy depends and to have their prostate checked? |

"Terminal care" , and his age, didn't give you a clue? The guy is OLDER THAN L.. and she was married for 40+ years and has been widowed for 20. > Most people, male and > female, suffer simple urinary problems for many years because they > don't think it important enough to seek medical help and/or are simply > embarrassed. Don't you see all the ads on TV for men to buy depends > and to have their prostate checked? No, I've never seen depends (or equivalent) advertised on UK TV. Possibly because in the UK, the NHS supplies serious incontinence products, and advertises prostate checks and care in every GP waiting room. There's no TV advertising of prescription-only medicine here, either. Janet UK |

LOL You're attempting to take my point off track, ain't gonna work... there was NO reason to mention that man's wallet... his wealth (or lack thereof) has nothing whatsoever to do with being a good friend (friends like that are no friends at all), it was gauche to mention. Actually it was uncalled for talk about one's personal losses on a cooking newsgroup, take it to email and keep it in email... because it's patently unfair to apprise some but not others of details of ones personal life. I really don't give a sou that she had to care for her sick husband, that's what she contracted to do in her wedding vows... or was it just a Shack Up sans that "Sickness or Health" clause. |
