This refridgeration of avocados after ripening works way better than the other way around. No more rotten avocados. And keeping them in the fruit drawer without a plastic bag seems good too.
I'm finding that for avocado treated this way, it's harder to separate the flesh from the peel. The flesh seems goopier. Wondering if it's a Universal Truth. |

I halve and pit them, cut a set of crosshatches, and scoop out the pieces with a spoon. Isaac |

And on a good day with a good avocado, I can simply peel the skin off the 1/4 pitted avocados and end up with 1/4 pitted avocados, and little to no wasted avocado flesh! YUM! John Kuthe... |

John: Yes, I was trying to peel them cold. Now I run them under some
warm water before hand, seems to help. Thanks. I also halve them to pit and quarter them to peel isw & MaryL: I like topping them quarters off with lots of different spices, sauces, and oils, so I want them completely out of their skins. |
