Default My stove looks like new!

Someone here... Jill? Cheri? Sorry can't remember who, mentioned that
they bought some foil burner liners. I did not find these at whatever store
I think they mentioned but I did find them online.

My drip pans were awful. Worse than I realized. They got to the point
where I stopped even trying to clean them because they were falling apart.
Yes, rusted! The one on the burner that I normally use actually had holes
eaten through it!

Apparently they are cheaply made, crappy things. Although not cheap to buy.
I did buy a replacement set and it was so expensive that I kept it unused,
in the bottom drawer of the stove. I only inserted them if someone was
coming over and I thought they would go into the kitchen.

And I'm not a messy cook either so I don't understand how/why this happened.
It is rare for me to have a boilover or some such thing so not sure how they
rusted.

But now? I have the new drip pans in and they are lined. Due to the design
of my pans (GE stove), the liners don't cover the entire pans but they
should help. I did save the package from the pans in case I need to buy
another set. But I don't plan to do that any time soon. Then again,
perhaps I should because the stove is now perhaps 10 years old.

No, it wasn't me. I have a GE Profile gas stovetop and I use Mr. Clean
Erasers to get rid of the gunk around the burners.

Mine isn't the Profile and this wasn't really around the burners but the
drips pans. I have had stoves in the past that had both rings and pans but
this one has all in one pans. The foil does not come up high enough to
cover the rings so they will likely wind up looking bad but the rest shall
stay clean! I just hope they won't rust out again.

I know. But those won't fit this stove. I need the H series and those are
not cheap. I think I paid $30 for the set. Lowes has these. That's where
I bought the stove. Not sure how much they charge for them though.

What I'm saying is, mine doesn't have drip pans. My old electric range did,
so I do know what you're talking about, not rust but heat wore little holes
in them over time.

I don't think it was me, either. I'm sure I have mentioned wrapping the
drip pans (under the electric coils) with heavy duty aluminium foil. I
didn't buy anything special.

Ohhh... Well, I know there was rust. I saw it and tried to scrub it off
but then the pans just turned black and powdery.

Hmmm... Somebody did mention buying foil burner liners at a dollar store so
I looked it up and found them. Not sure who it was then.
