I was talking about creamy polenta which needs a decent amount of cream (and sometimes cheese). Read up. No idea why she suddenly needed to call a paltry amount of butter "dairy" as if it's bad and don't care. She's not lactose intolerant, neither am I, nor is anyone I know and I don't cook for anyone who keeps Kosher, so I don't give a rat's patooty one way or the other. Truth be told, I don't add butter to polenta anyway. I make it with corn meal and a commercial broth (for flavor + salt). At my house soft polenta is not served on the side, it's served *under* something that is like gravy (mushroom ragu last time) and I don't need to make it using anything more than those two items. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

I don't care how small the amount is, it would make me just as sick. And you specifically said that you don't consider butter to be dairy. I am not lactose intolerant but I *am* dairy intolerant. Yes, I know some dairy contains lactose but I am no expert on that since it isn't an issue for me. > > Truth be told, I don't add butter to polenta anyway. But you are the one who posted the recipe containing dairy and at the time you didn't say that you changed up the recipe. Then cried foul. |
