Default Is anyone here *not* over-the-hill? {was: Cooking again:) Birthdaydinner.}

So do I and I'm not even retired yet (although it's starting to seem
like it). Work has been very slow lately so I'm "underemployed"
....just not getting the hours that I'd prefer. It's nice to have the
extra time off but not so good for the bank account. :-(

I *should* be at work right now and not posting here.

I've never considered myself over the hill. I merely feel like it.

White lasagna or pizza generally means without tomatoes or tomato
sauce.

Friends of mine who have retired told me that it takes about 18 months to
adjust to the new lifestyle.
One of them did a lot of volunteering (Habitat For Humanity, Food Bank etc)
before doing all the finishing work on a new house on the coast and moving
there.
The thought of retiring horrifies me but I do consider it from time to
time - especially today as another client wants me to take out $5 million
C&G insurance!

True enough but that will leave you plenty of time for cooking and posting

I didn't miss the people but I did miss my work)

Dunno if we are still talking cabbage casserole or where it was but .. a
question. I have been searching on line and there are some really good
sounding ones, but most have rice. I am thinking of subbing grated potato
instead! What think you?

I get together with fellow retirees every couple of months and
sometimes those in the old gang that are still too young to retire.
Doing pre-Christmas socializing with as many as can make it tomorrow,
in fact. A few have sold their homes and moved out of the area.
