It sure sounds like they're using up stuff from Thanksgiving, doesn't it? As others have mentioned, if you had turkey and/or ham at Thanksgiving, you probably really don't want to eat more of it right now. Jill |

BUT don't forget you have money to use up ![]() How can I forget? LOL I still owe them $600. BUT, I was talking with someone yesterday who knows how I feel about this dining assessment. She said OH! You didn't know you can have that assessment applied towards several charities? NO! (The things they don't tell you!) I asked, do you mean instead of writing a check to Dataw I can spend that money to feed hungry children instead and it will be deducted as if I'd used it at the Club? According to her, yes. Seems like there's a list of local charities. I'm waiting to hear back about that. I'd MUCH rather spend my money that way. I know I can't buy/eat $600 worth of food by the end of the year. Besides, I'm running out of freezer containers. ![]() Jill |

If I have to spend the money anyway I'd much rather use it that way than line their coffers. Jill |

I always buy at least 2 additional turkeys at Thanksgiving, so we can have it more than once a year. I would eat turkey once a week, if it were easier/cheaper to find parts (as opposed to a whole bird). Turkey breast tenderloins? Yes! Half turkey breast? Yes! If only I could convince more people to eat turkey more often, so there would be more options at my local grocer... |

But there are so many acronyms associated with this place. There's a separate DIOA (owners association for things like maintaining and paving the roads - I wish they'd put in some street lights!). The DIARB. (Dataw Island Architectural Review Board - must have approval if you want to paint your house.) Frankly, I don't care who claims the tax deduction. I can't. Jill |
