In addition, the "Blue Plate Special" today is Honey Glazed Ham Served
with Sweet Yams and Corn (also $9.00). It sure sounds like they're
using up stuff from Thanksgiving, doesn't it?

As others have mentioned, if you had turkey and/or ham at Thanksgiving,
you probably really don't want to eat more of it right now.

LOL I couldn't eat a whole cornish hen, much less a whole turkey!
Methinks someone there needs a course in writing better menu
descriptions.

LOL I'm pretty sure the corn is on the side. You never can tell with
these folks. Cornbread stuffing *and* corn seems like overkill on the
corn factor.

But it fills a plate and is cheaper than meat!

How can I forget? LOL I still owe them $600.

BUT, I was talking with someone yesterday who knows how I feel about
this dining assessment. She said OH! You didn't know you can have that
assessment applied towards several charities? NO! (The things they
don't tell you!) I asked, do you mean instead of writing a check to
Dataw I can spend that money to feed hungry children instead and it will
be deducted as if I'd used it at the Club? According to her, yes.

Seems like there's a list of local charities. I'm waiting to hear back
about that. I'd MUCH rather spend my money that way. I know I can't
buy/eat $600 worth of food by the end of the year. Besides, I'm running
out of freezer containers.

I still owe them $600. But I was told by someone yesterday I can
apply the minimum to [a select list, I gather] charity and it will count
as if I spent it at the Club. I'm waiting to hear back about that. If
I have to spend the money anyway I'd much rather use it that way than
line their coffers.

Unless you, like me, love both turkey and ham. I always buy at least 2
additional turkeys at Thanksgiving, so we can have it more than once a year.
I would eat turkey once a week, if it were easier/cheaper to find parts
(as opposed to a whole bird). Turkey breast tenderloins? Yes! Half
turkey breast? Yes!

If only I could convince more people to eat turkey more often, so there
would be more options at my local grocer...

<g> and running out of space to store too I expect! Yes! And a much better
use of it than in their pocket!!!! Excellent)

Yes, it's the DIC. But there are so many acronyms associated with this
place. There's a separate DIOA (owners association for things like
maintaining and paving the roads - I wish they'd put in some street
lights!). The DIARB. (Dataw Island Architectural Review Board - must
have approval if you want to paint your house.)

Frankly, I don't care who claims the tax deduction. I can't.

I don't think they'd sell me a bunch of frozen anything. They don't
admit they make/sell anything from frozen.
