Default Winco was wonderful today!

They had super good prices on all sorts of things, but mainly things that I
don't need. And I didn't see a single thing in the produce dept. that was
past its prime or going to expire today. Got bagged salad and shredded
lettuce, baby carrots, Roma tomatoes, a cucumber, and assorted onions. Am
eating a hummus wrap with the tomatoes and white onion. They had the good
kind of pita for only $1.38 per package. I would have preferred the white
but they failed to put a date sticker on any of those packages. The whole
wheat is good till the 19th so hopefully we can finish the package by then.
Husband is back on a hummus kick.

They also started carrying breakfast burritos! Woo hoo! Husband loves
those things. And they don't expire till Jan. Bought enough of them to
fill a small plastic bin. He will be happy.

I mainly only went there for a few things like bulk nuts and produce. But
it was nice to go alone and not be pressed for time. I could go up and down
most every aisle at my leisure. Oh and they had the Pinquito beans on sale
for the soup I'm going to make.

Winco generally has the best price for select grade standing rib roasts
in this town for Christmas, and by far. When I say generally, I haven't
checked this year's prices yet, but I'm going to real soon.
As you know, they beat nearly everybody in general food pricing where
you live. If they don't beat *everybody* where you live for nearly
every food item, let me know who's selling supermarket grade groceries
for less. I'd be curious.

They did seem to have the highest price on Slimfast products and not a very
large selection. But the lowest price on Atkins bars. Occasionally their
soda pop is not such a good price but that happens with every store. I have
only bought a small amount of meat there. Daughter was fine with it when
she ate meat but husband didn't care for it. Best price on cheese by far!
And they have good pizza crust and sauce. Also love their assortment of
Mexican foods and their bulk foods keep getting better and better. When I
first went there, I stood in the produce department and told daughter, "This
is heaven!"
