Was this taken at Green Lake last night? The SO was too tired to attend.

For those of you who are not of the Seattle persuasion: The dancing
clams originated with Ivar Haglund, "flounder" of the Ivar's seafood
restaurant chain. The Ivar's motto is Keep Clam. The dancing clams
(people dressed in clam suits) are regulars at Seattle-area parades.

I love Ivars "chowda." I was once told by an arrogant Seattleite that Ivars
is in fact "garbage." Every food dish has it's dilletantes it would seem.

I had never seen them before. But I do remember the "We've got crab legs!"
from Sea Galley. I miss Sea Galley and their huge salad bar.

No, no. Dilettante's is chocolate! And damned fine chocolate too. But I
made the mistake of taking some of this to my in-laws in PA. Apparently
those in PA think Hershey's is the only way to go.

Ivar was a true icon here in Seattle. And each 4th of July, he threw a great
party on Elliott Bay. Times were better, with his fun commercials.

Keep clam!
