Obviously, Gary, but I've had nothing to do with him for over a year. A
mutual friend is worried about him, and as I've said here, I don't wish him ill.

Shira called me. She said she was worried, and that you had posted some rather
despairing stuff to FB or something, and were incommunicado. She was worried, and she doesn't realize that you're not really worth worrying about. I
disclosed very little.

You know, John, if I'd preferred that you had been found with your head in
the oven, I wouldn't have been hesitant to say so. You may want me to hate
you, but the best you'll get is pity.

In trying to decide whether to use the word, pitiful, or pathetic, I ran across
this nice poem.

I just don't understand a long-going feud between past friends for
many years. You two have aired your hate towards each other but never
told just what happened to cause this split. It must have been
something really horrible, is all I can think.

That said, I can't imagine holding a grudge against an old friend so
long. If I have an issue with someone, I'll air it, then get over it.

It's Christmas day, both of you. No better time to come to terms with
each other. Kiss and make up and plan a kayak trip.

Perhaps a Festivus should be called?

"In the original O'Keefe tradition, the holiday would take place in
response to family tension, "any time from December to May... The
celebration of Festivus begins with the "Airing of Grievances", which
takes place immediately after the Festivus dinner has been served. It
consists of each person lashing out at others and the world about how
they have been disappointed in the past year."

Christmas is a made up Holiday, with lots of history and tradition,
and nothing more. It becan as a superstitious worship service of the
Winter Solstice. Christians just Christianized it alomg with the
Vernal Equinox which they made into Easter. It's all BULLSHIT!

Bryan's only interested in kayaking with his son, and that's fine
with me. With as shitty as he treats him (I've witnessed it!) it may
be the ohnly "quality time" Johnny Falcon gets with him!

He thinks so little of his personality that he assumes that the thing a

John decided he really disliked my personality. It isn't the first time
we've had a falling out. He started being really hyper-critical of me on
this NG, and seemingly couldn't let it go. He was always the one to start
it up again.

He followed me to alt.punk, where he made an ass of himself. Then he followed me to this NG.

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...6-250-false%5D

I don't hate him. I still kind of wish him well, though less now than 2 days ago. That whole "Bullshit and **** you!" thing was pretty uncalled for. The woman who was looking for him is my ex-GF, from when I was 16-20 years old. She's still FB friends with John, as was my wife, until last week when she deleted her FB page (I did too). I never asked her, or any of my other family members who are FB friends with him to delete him. My conflict with him exists in this NG only. Other than that, he's already basically dead to me.

Shira called me on the telephone, which is something she hasn't done for many years, though we've exchanged many emails and FB messages. She was concerned. John had written some despairing stuff, and she and John's family were concerned. I wouldn't even be sharing this, but he was ****ing rude when he should have said nothing if not a begrudging, "Thanks, but I still dislike you intensely."

I *do* care about Shira, and about John's father. I've only met the man a few times, and it was decades ago, but from every indication from John, he is a good man, and deserving of decency from me. According to what I heard, his family was concerned that he might have killed himself. I was a bit sad, even though I'd be glad to be rid of him on Usenet, for several reasons, but even if I didn't care at all about him, I was asked for a favor by Shira, and I've never stopped caring about her, even though I've had zero romantic feelings for her for well over 30 years.

Why he continues to pick fights with me here, I don't know. Why he took such an active--rather than passive--dislike for me, I haven't a clue. Anyway, I'm glad he's not dead, and wish him happiness, though mostly because I figure if he was happy that he'd just walk away from me online like he has in the real world.

If you thuink that pure honesty is always a virtue, you are dumb as
the proverbial doorknob! It's a sign of pure self-centeredness! Like
"I'm so cool because at least *I* am honest!"

Whatta dumb****!

"Christmas is a made up Holiday, with lots of history and tradition,
and nothing more. It becan as a superstitious worship service of the
Winter Solstice. Christians just Christianized it alomg with the
Vernal Equinox which they made into Easter. It's all BULLSHIT"!

No. John uses *real* chocolate for the cherries. In fact, I think that
the rest of his candy is also trans-fat free these days, as the Chocoley
folks use fully hydrogenated palm oil in their imitation chocolate
flavored couverture.

Oh, and as The Gelding suggested, you can produce the cherry confections
yourselves without having to deal with him personally.

Hey John, Bryan --

Based on past contributions here, I suspect neither one of you is a
truly bad guy.

So, as a huge favor to the rest of us here -- whom you must hold in at
least some microscopic esteem, or why would you come here at all -- how
about just letting it go for the new year?

Actually, that same request could be applied to other chronic conditions
as well -- like Julie bashing. People are what they are -- just killfile
the ones you can't stomach, rather than aggravating everyone in the room.

Yeah, I know -- look it up under "F". 8

I suspect you of being German. As an angry young black male, I despise all griks and Germans. They stole me from Africa.

You read incorrectly. I wrote that I hadn't wished him dead, because had I,
"I wouldn't have been hesitant to say so."

Your reading comprehension needs improvement.

No. I didn't asked you if you'd stopped ****ing 15 year olds yet. I
assume that the last time you did was just before your girlfriend (and
future wife) turned 16. When you were 21, maybe 22.

Remember pussy, John? You used to love it.
