Default I'm going to sell my Chocolate Covered Cherries!!

Not as Christmas Candy though. I started making Christmas Candy 28
years ago as a protest against the commercializaion of Christmas and
so it shall always be.

But it is NOTa violation of my personal ethics to make and sell
Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Cherries! :-)

Bryan, there is hope for you yet! But you'll have to PAY THE PRICE!

I's funny that an Atheist would object to "the commercializaion of Christmas," but not Valentine's Day, but V-Day is a very chocolatey holiday.

They really are something special, Jay. I'd suggested to John for quite a
few years that he make them for sale, and the world will be a happier place
for his decision to do so.

Point 1 - I've alerted the St. Louis Authorities about your potential illegal food service business. Based on our previous "professional" interactions, you now know you're shut down before you started. Way to go, pantload!

Point 2) "Everyone who has ever had them say YES!". Well, this counts out family, since they won't deal with you. It counts out friends who might be honest, because he has none of those left. That leaves work friends, who dodge him relentlessly because, well...himself. And Gomer home visit nursing patients who would eat a rat turd and love it.

A recent post was about an old friend who was worried (as was your father) that you might hurt yourself. That really comes through in these desperate posts. Please don't disappoint us. Andy and Blake and MooseMeat are waiting for you.

Bryan's right, they are as a female boating friend of mine calls them
"orgasms"!

I have to make them first, which I'm going to do in a week or so. I
was thinking of possibly selling them at Jon's diner and maybe Starrs.
I have not fond anything out about any requirements either may have. I
may just end up selling them delivery or mail order.

You might be able to sell them to B&Bs to put out for guests,
especially if they're the type that puts a chocolate on the pillow
when they turn down the covers.

The best of luck on this endeavor. Sending chocolates through the mail
seems fraught with danger though. I'll buy some if you deliver it - no
problem! :-)

He could easily get around any potential health dept. issues by making them in
a health dept. inspected facility, such as one of the places mentioned. I know
the owners of both. One is my nephew. See? I don't really have anything against the guy, and up until my wife blew away her FB page, he was still
nominally FB friends even with her.

I understand disliking him, but you're pretty over the top. Maybe you had a bad experience with Kuthe on another forum. I have no idea why you're so hostile
in the real world. If you really have ethical concerns about his qualification
for health care, you should want him to become a confectioner.

Almost everyone here wishes there would be little hostility between John and I
on this NG. That includes me.

Not easily done. You suddenly become a commercial entity and have to
meet a lot of requirements for selling food. Your kitchen and equipment
must be inspected and be licensed, etc.

Best to stick to selling to friends only.

I have my food service sanitation certificate. The candy factory is
100% health department requirement compliant!

That may make it possible to buy a pie at the farmer's market. If you
go mail order and interstate, that could open a new can or worms.

And mail order of chocolate can be seasonal or expensive. I used to mail
order it but they would only ship during cooler months. Some would ship
when it was cold but would require the purchase of a cold pack. I would
never want chocolate badly enough to pay for that.

Well, count me in - if you decide to sell them, I'll buy a both, even
two boxes, if you'll ship to here (Northern NJ).

This is a real email address that I use here - just drop me a note with
the details.

I have! I've been making them for my Christmas Candy since... 1991!!!
I just looked back on my Christman Candy making records!! OMG I did
not realize I've been making them that long!

And this year: almost NO leakers! And I know how to do it again too,
and will! They are best when they don't leak!

Question is not if anyone wants them; the question is whether or not
they will pay for them. Just sayin'.

I have several orders. Plus folks are watching me on Facebook and
"liking" my posts there! I expect among them I'll have some clients!

I expect to take a wash on this, but damn is it fun! I've fully
realized I can temper chocolate just my the feel of it! I'm a
chocolatier! :-)

Everyone here knows that John and me are not friendly, but I'm happy that he's
selling his delicious confection.

That would be hard to know, since his name does not appear on the list
of members and I saw no posts. He must be using a different name.

I don't think he said he was on RFC-FB. Plug his name into the FB
search box - there's a John Kuthe, St. Louis.
