Yes, that is what I do too, great hint.

I suspect our clothing styles are quite different. I mostly wear
jersey knit pants with side pockets. My wallet is a tri-fold.

Sounds like your pants fit much more closely than mine do. Plus,
I just don't care whether my pockets bulge; it's about function.

Don't forget, I spend about half the year with some kind of coat on,
which doubles the number of pockets.

I found a lady's wallet in a parking lot and obviously opened it to see if
there was an address to return it. I was astounded at all the plastic and
the amount of personal information it contained. It was a veritable treasure
trove if I had been an identity thief. I left a message on her phone
pointing out the error of her ways but left the purse with a neaby store as
it had no money in it.

I think it's been a very long time since people referred to police
as 'the fuzz' but what do I know.

The detector is not for me, but it is handy to know if the cops
are in the vicinity in this town I often have to drive through.
It's one of those places where they are continually driving around
looking for minor infractions so they can write a ticket.

I wouldn't replace it, myself. All the speeding I have done, I
never did get a speeding ticket, nothing to do with having a
detector.

I don't drag my purse to the grocery store, ever. Or into any store, actually. I put cash and debit/credit card in one pocket and a
tissue or two in another. I drop my keys in one of those pockets when I get out of the car. Very handy,
no weight, and easy. I only drag my purse along when I go to a movie (for my own candy and water)
or to a restaurant.

Funny, I'm the opposite. I don't bring my purse to the movies.
I just know I'll walk out without it.

One time we flew to Las Vegas for a funeral. I was in the middle
seat between two big guys. The steward laughed and said You'll
be safe if we crash. I could barely move and the three of us were
pretty well wedged in. The worst.

At some point I couldn't find my pocketbook, and can't really
move around to look for it. Still had a couple three hours to
think Did I leave it at the airport? No, I am positive I had
it. If that's true, where is it. Heh. Not a good time. How
will I get home with no photo ID?

Turns out it was under the seat way behind the window seat guy.
How? I have no idea. But I never travel with a purse anymore,
I wear a belly bag, a decent looking leather one, and I don't care
if I look what'stheopposite of stylish.

I attach my keys via a dogleash clip to the zipperpull on my fannypacks or crossbody mini bags.

When I go to the flea market I wear a fanny pack. Who wants to be digging into a purse to pay a vendor and the possibility of knocking over displays? But my everyday handbag is a leather backpack purse. Leaves the hands free to get touchy-feely in stores without a purse sliding off the shoulder.

And nobody has mentioned how NASTY those cart seats are. Kids with diapers and/or spitting up, and some people plopping drippy meats in that area and you know they're not going to be bothered wiping that seat off when they are through. Purse bottoms can be filthy and women don't think they come home and sit it on the kitchen counter, dresser, or their bed.

I leave my purse in the passenger seat when I pump gas. All the doors are locked except for the drivers side and my tank is also on that side.

My mom had her wallet stolen out of her purse because of just that
reason. She just doesn't pay attention. I've shopped with her since
then and she still does the same thing. Argggghhhhhhh

I'm sorry to hear your mom had her wallet stolen. Old habits are hard
to break, I suppose. My mother probably did the same thing at one time
or another. I really don't know. Grocery shopping wasn't something we
ever really did together.

When my mom first asked me to come here to help her out, grocery
shopping became my job by default. No amount of cajoling could convince
her to go with me. She apparently disliked grocery shopping as much as
she disliked cooking.

And they come free with a lot of mail orders. No way would I even try to
hang my purse. It's so big and heavy it would break the hook! If I am at a
booth, I will set it beside me. Otherwise it goes under the table.

But my everyday handbag is a leather backpack purse. Leaves the hands free
to get touchy-feely in stores without a purse sliding off the shoulder.

And nobody has mentioned how NASTY those cart seats are. Kids with diapers

---

Don't your stores have cart wipes? They are everywhere here! Some stores
even do it for you.

As for purse bottoms, I've yet to have one that looked filthy. Have never
had one tested for germs though. My dad would never let us put a purse on a
table or counter saying that of course it was filthy because we set them on
the bathroom floor. I was like... Uh... Wha? Where? Not me. Most
bathrooms have a sturdy hook or shelf in them for the purse. Failing that,
it goes in my lap.

My mom just has her whole purse stolen. Doesn't pay attention to where she
is putting it. And doesn't realize that she has left without it.

Years ago I suspect that my wallet was stolen. I know it had disappeared.
This was before I had any credit cards so all I had to replace was my
driver's license but... I had the rent check from my roommate in it and
what was to me a large amount of cash.

I had gone out to dinner so know that I had it then. And it didn't turn up
in my friend's car or the restaurant. My mistake was in leaving it in the
living room.

My roommate's friend was not getting along with his wife so my roommate had
allowed him to move in with us for a few days. We had a huge walk in closet
upstairs between the two bedrooms. It was my sewing room but it was large
enough for a person to sleep on the floor. I suspect that this guy took it
because he sort of disappeared right after that and my roommate never heard
from him again.

Had another roommate who would steal money from my purse when I was in the
bathroom to pay her portion of the utilities. She even tried to pay me with
rolls of coins that I had just rolled and put address labels on to take to
the bank. I was like... Really?

The last straw came with her when she tried to prove to the landlord that
she had sent in a check for her portion of the rent. She stole one of my
canceled checks, took a photo copy of the back of it and then the front of
one of her own checks. Landlord and I sued her for that but... She kept
quitting jobs and moving around so the best we could do was get $80 from
her. It was costing me too much time and money to keep trying to track her
down.

You should shop at stores that have the hand wipes, then you can wipe that
stuff down before setting your purse on it, but my purse goes in a basket
that's in a corner of my kitchen.

Mine is next to me now. No room in my kitchen for it.

Every person here who doesn't send in a mugshot to

should be assumed to be horribly unattractive.
