They're not wrong, just not as attractive on the
plate as orange ones.

We had purple, white, yellow, and orange carrots earlier this week -
looked pretty and was tasty!

They taste the same...
The 'original' carrots were white anyway

I'm sure they taste the same. They're just not visually appealing. I
don't like the appearance of tiny dark purple potatoes, either. They
jack the prices up for these hybrids because they're supposed to be
hoity-toity. They taste the same yet cost more. I don't think they
look good on a plate.

I suppose presentation-wise they're not as nice as an orange carrot -
just different, is all. Mind you, apparently they have
anti-inflammatory properties and are higher in antioxidants compared
to orange carrots.

I recall reading somewhere that since there are so few blue foods in
nature, human beings are not predisposed to find the color blue
appetizing.

Purple carrots are very attractive, plain old orange carrots are
boring... carrots are available in many colors.

I agree with that statement. I could buy broccoflower. It's
chartreuse! It might taste great. I'm not buying it.
