Two years ago I tripped, fell and broke my nose. OUCH! My glasses flew off (I'm blind without them). I was in pain, crying, my nose was bleeding. I couldn't see. I *could* see the lights on the security panel. So I made my way over and hit the button. They called. Sorry, I don't feel like answering the phone. They came over. The guard found my glasses, which fortunately weren't broken. He called paramedics. Jill |

I had a similar thing happen in Verdun, France. We had ordered a three course menu dinner. We were both having steaks but had different appetizers. She had shrimp and avocado salad and I had ordered a tourte Lorraine, a small quiche, by which I mean it was not a tart, but larger than a single serving meat pie. The bottom was some sort of sausage meat and the savory custard was rich and cheesy. My wife's dish was not the sort of serving you would get here, a spoonful of shrimp salad in the seed cavity of half an avocado. It was a huge mound of shrimp salad topped with a dozen shrimp and a whole sliced avocado. We barely made it through the appetizers. Then the steaks came...at least 14 oz, and accompanied by about a quart of beans for each of us. |

Ice can be very dangerous. I have slipped on ice many times and suffered various minor bumps, bruises and scrapes. One of the scariest was when I was working. I was walking across a slippery parking lot. My feet flew out from under me and I went straight down and landed flat on my back. It stunned my entire body and left me feeling shaken for the rest of the day. Inside is a nice place to be on an icy day. |

Ice can be lethal and not to be taken lightly. -- http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/shop/ |
