OK, so perhaps your friends will tell you to get over your constant bitching
about Jill's posts, politely of course.

I wonder if the wait staff are as dull at the "chef". Ask then "What is
the soupe du jour?" and they answer "soup of the day".

Yeah, if I had a bowl of soup I'd be full. No need for the entree, I'm
done. I don't think you can get it "to go", though, so I won't be
bothering.

Same here. I wonder if they know people all over are making fun of
their menus?

I just paid the [remaining] bill from 2013. Yikes. I haven't gone to
the Club yet this year but the month isn't over yet. I won't be
going there for Valentine's Day unless I can get some people to go with
me. But I do plan to buy something every month for the freezer. Or a
bottle or two of wine. Or both.

I just had to pay to have the security system repaired. It started
going off in the middle of the night, every twenty minutes or so. I
like to sleep so I disconnected it. Then I called the repairman. The
guy replaced the old hard-wired smoke alarms. That set me back a couple
hundred dollars.

I think it's funny Gary thought the winter weather photo was of my
house. It's the condominiums on the other side of the golf course. I
certainly don't have a house that big!

Interesting menu for former Colts QB Johnny Unitas:

The address now is a Firestone car center, how times change...

And what's wrong with that ?
It's about cooking.

Contrary to All-Merkin topics like :

Or the histrionics of some of the posters here.
Or the endless ramblings of some bovine posters ...

Yet another requirement. Everyone has to have one. It's a combination
security alarm/smoke alarm/emergency button. It's hard wired to the
phone line and monitored at the security gate. They are the first
responders if an alarm goes off. They call first. If no one answers
they send someone right over who will alert medical or fire department
personnel if needed.

Some people seem to like it. I never did. I had big, wide feet with a
high arch and hand me down skates. My feet were always sore. The best
thing about skating was taking those damned skates off.

I'm certainly not complaing about the security system. Two years ago I
tripped, fell and broke my nose. OUCH! My glasses flew off (I'm blind
without them). I was in pain, crying, my nose was bleeding. I couldn't
see. I *could* see the lights on the security panel. So I made my way
over and hit the button. They called. Sorry, I don't feel like
answering the phone. They came over. The guard found my glasses, which
fortunately weren't broken. He called paramedics.

That's what I figured with all the "news" about Atlanta today, but it
seems like people were freaking out about their middle and high school
"children" in spite of them being held at their schools with teachers
in charge - who had families of their own to worry about.

Well, I didn't know Jill. There are many single family houses that
size around here. I just figured that you took a picture of your own
house, not neighbors. Oh well. :-D

I didn't go outside to take that picture. With the back patio and front
walkway & driveway covered in ice, I wasn't going to risk slipping and
falling just to take a picture of my house.

Years ago, my daughter and I went to Outback Steakhouse. We ordered
steak dinners and also a "Bloomin' Onion' for an appetizer.

By the time we finished that giant deep fried onion, the steak meals
arrived and we weren't so hungry anymore. We ended up taking home much
of the entree.

I had a similar thing happen in Verdun, France. We had ordered a three
course menu dinner. We were both having steaks but had different
appetizers. She had shrimp and avocado salad and I had ordered a tourte
Lorraine, a small quiche, by which I mean it was not a tart, but larger
than a single serving meat pie. The bottom was some sort of sausage meat
and the savory custard was rich and cheesy. My wife's dish was not the
sort of serving you would get here, a spoonful of shrimp salad in the
seed cavity of half an avocado. It was a huge mound of shrimp salad
topped with a dozen shrimp and a whole sliced avocado.

We barely made it through the appetizers. Then the steaks came...at
least 14 oz, and accompanied by about a quart of beans for each of us.

I don't blame you. Ice can be very dangerous. I have slipped on ice
many times and suffered various minor bumps, bruises and scrapes. One
of the scariest was when I was working. I was walking across a slippery
parking lot. My feet flew out from under me and I went straight down and
landed flat on my back. It stunned my entire body and left me feeling
shaken for the rest of the day. Inside is a nice place to be on an icy day.

A fall like that killed Dr. Atkins. Ice is nothing to fool with.

Especially if you have the choice! Ice can be lethal and not to be taken
lightly.

Better to get death over with quickly, imo. His high fat diet nonsense
would have killed him but probably slower and with much hospital
nightmare crap.

My system does not like fat and does not deal well with it. My wife does
very well on an an Atkins low carb high fat diet and it works for her.
