This is fun. The blogger cooks, reviews, and photographs silly vintage
dishes.

An Old Fashioned? 1977? Heck, I recall getting sloshed on those in the early sixties, and I'm sure the drink goes back much before that. A friend was drinking Whiskey Sours and I was foolishly eating ALL the fruit from both of our drinks. Sicker than a daaaawwwwg.

And here I was wondering what to do with that cheddar cheese soup! I think
Angela lost her head when she picked that up. I told her if she bought it
she had better eat it! And of course she didn't.

I did make those butterballs many times. Very easy to make and taste pretty
good. Have also made the walnut cheese sticks! They were good but my bro
doesn't like walnuts so I only made them the one time. Also made those
chicken spread sandwiches although I don't think it was the Swanson brand
spread. Did not like those. Nope.

Made the festive coffee ring. It was just okay. Stuff like that always
looks better than it tastes to me and again, the walnut so only made it
once. Made countless batches of pressed cookies. Remember the hot dogger
but did not have one.

Made the holiday pumpkins but they just weren't the same with no scary witch
to put behind them. Made those cheese cones too. Used pecans. Bro doesn't
like pecans either so... Really wanted to make tomato aspic but my mom
wouldn't let me. Made chocolate syrup brownies but not sure if I used that
exact recipe. In fact for a time, I added chocolate syrup to all of the
brownies that I made.

Made the colored marshmallows all the time for my bro and his friends.
Really quick to make. Just dip them in milk then in jimmies or non-pareils.
They used sugar in the pic but I preferred the multi colored look. Made
many cheese balls, including the cones as mentioned above. Pretty much same
thing.

Made the Whip and Chill. I don't think anyone liked it all that much. Made
the Good Girl cookies. Made tuna pizza. Made the circle pups but not quite
like that. That was what you did when you only had burger buns and not hot
dog buns. You could then fit the hot dog onto the bun.

Made gumdrop cookies but I don't remember putting ketchup in them. Made the
snowballs and English toffee cookies. Made the frosted lemon and filled
snowball cookies. The tuna casserole with potato chips. The pie burgers.

Sheesh. In looking back it seems that I cooked/baked a lot more different
things when I was a kid than I do now! Partly because my parents liked to
throw parties and things like cheese balls and desserts were generally only
made then. And partly because they did put up with my experiments and would
try to eat what I made even if they didn't like it. And partly because now
that I'm grown up, there is just no sense in making some things. Heh.
