Default Goat and lamb available at Cash and Carry

Goat or lamb carcasses are available at Cash and Carry right now (at
least at my C&C) Just thought some of you might be interested.

Whole carcasses? You must have a walk in meat case. Where does the
lamb come from?

I knew you were going to ask that. I went there this afternoon which
is a bad time. They had a sign up next to the entrance The place was
sort of cleaned out. Big delivery tomorrow morning. I don't know if
I will get there before Easter. Can you call your local C&C?

I was just curious because I'm not going to buy an entire carcass. In
any case, the Smart & Final I usually go to doesn't have a walk in
meat locker, so they wouldn't carry them.

Our Cash & Carry is in a location I rarely visit, so I went to the
newly remodeled Smart & Final today. No meat locker there, but I got
a nice big hunk of pork butt at $1.50 lb - which was a much better
deal than Safeway. I also got a nice package of flap meat. I will
package the pieces individually and freeze them for later.

I went in for one package of Sara Lee English muffins and exited the
store $50 later. Lucky's is in the mall next door, so I stopped there
for Sherry vinegar. Unfortunately grocery stores stock cooking wine
with the vinegar and whoever told me they had Sherry vinegar
apparently had seen the cooking sherry and thought it was vinegar. So
glad I didn't make a special trip over there to buy it.

Unless I take a list and stick to it, I walk out of C&C with a lighter
wallet. I love their bacon smoked ends and pieces. A lot of it is
just plain thick slices, but I use it cut into pieces for flavoring
and seasoning a lot of stuff. $6.69 for 3 pounds. I will buy a whole
top sirloin and cut it up and freeze. Glad you got some good deals.
