God, all the time that I spent watching really crappy TV--like Barney
Miller--is time that I wish I could have back. My wife went out yesterday
evening with her co-workers, and sometimes the conversation would be about
TV shows, and she hasn't watched TV for 2-1/2 years (since 9-21-11), and
that was only about 15 minutes until we decided that the critic recommended
show was just another piece of crap.

Huh. Barney Miller was perhaps the most realistic cop show on TV.
