Uses for these exotic juices?
No alcoholic drinks, thank you. (Other drinks are fine.)
I was in an Indian store a while back and saw biggish bottles of the following: Pomegranate juice drink Lychee juice Gooseberry juice I tried Googling on "uses," but it didn't help. (You have to say that rather than "recipe" - even with gooseberry juice, I kept coming up with the recipe for MAKING the juice!) There were different syrups being sold as well, but with those, I easily found uses in chowhound. Got any ideas? Thanks. Lenona. |

One example: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/...nate-beef.html But pomegranate juice would be better than pomegranate juice drink. One could use pomegranate molasses/syrup. Whether pomegranate juice drink would be OK will depend on how much pomegranate juice is in it, and how much added sugar. Pomegranate juice is very sweet, typically about 15% sugar. It's also sour, so it's good for a sweet and sour effect in cooking. Lychee juice might go well in a lychee and coconut pudding. Maybe based on tapioca balls. Or something like this: http://www.veggiebelly.com/2010/02/t...e-pudding.html with lychee juice instead of lychees. If all else fails, just drink them. |
