I used to make myself a chocolare cake donut presded deep into the
fudge icing then deep into the pan of crushed pecans. YUM!!

Working in the donut shop had it's definite advantages! :-)

I got some rasperry preserves (not jam) recently and it was filled with
seeds. Very bitter.

And once I bit into a rasperry muffin and got a raspberry seed stuck between
my teeth. Ouch.

The long ones are male/boy donuts... the round ones with a hole are
female/girl donuts... jelly/cream filled donuts are prego donuts.

When I was a little kid we used to visit my uncle in the next town. There was a bakery that made the best ever jelly donuts. They were huge, overfilled with a really thick raspberry/grape jam that would squirt out with every bite, the inside donut was dense and the outside crispy with raised sugar.. I loved visits with my uncle. When he didn't buy us donuts, he would make fresh strawberry crèpes. He was the cook/owner of a little corner restaurant.

Sounds delicious. I guess that must have been a Concord grape jam and not
like a lollipop (muscadine) grape jam.

Years ago I used to buy thick sugar cookies with thickly topped white icing.
And then they'd put these confectionary lobster decorations on them that
looked great. Have never seen them again.

I also miss Boston cream pocket pies, covered with a chocolate flavored
glaze.

Ya know something? As much as I like good old Dunkin Donuts Boston Cremes (which I have exactly once a year, coming up at an annual event I host in early May), if you were standing on a street corner and holding up one of these, examining it as though you were Macbeth studying Yorick's skull, and I was anywhere nearby and knew what you had, I'd probably crash through whatever crowd there was, grab it right out of your hands, dash off down the street gibbering madly, and devour it by the time I reached the next corner.

So keep an eye out for me (two meanings there!) :-)
