Right! Should have written something like... You have to take them from
the cupboard then wash them afterwards.

Miniature Blood Mary. I knew a guy who would inject cherry tomatoes
with Vodka that had pepper and hot sauce mixed in. He would have them
for lunch. At work.

Sorry, but cutting any tomatoes between a couple of plates was the
main joke to start with. And call with within 15 minutes and get 4
plates instead of two. Just pay shipping and handling.

Oh, okay. I think injecting fruit with alcohol is beyond silly.

The key word is "potential". Mensa would not cut their admission
stardards the the left side of the bell curve.

Why?

I had a party once and we make champagne punch with strawberries in it. The
next day, we ate the remaining berries. No need to inject those! They
packed a wallop.

I never got the appeal of Jell-O shots either. I'm not a drinker. Not any
more anyway. I did drink a little when I was younger.

I think they're fun for the younger crowd. I think the tomato thing would be

Nope. I saw them at a party a couple of times. Once with a dip, I
don't recall the other but it was a summertime gathering.

I can think of a couple of former posters to this ng who claimed to be
members of Mensa. Misfits would definitely decribe them.

Probably. I've read that it's easy to cheat on the exam, so some
members are not qualified, but they were smart enough not to get
caught cheating. Do you really want to be around dishonest people?

What a jaundiced piece of uninformed discrimination from someone who probably
wishes they were smarter.

The evidence is neatly contained in this thread.

??? She indicated that your posts are the evidence. If you were smart
enough for Mensa that should not have been hard to figure out.

These days it would be very easy to cheat. I took the test long prior to
the Internet but even then I suppose I could have cheated. I didn't. But
I'm also not the type to join things so even though I could have, I opted
not to. They sure did want my money though!

For those who commented about the downside of the involvement of plates, the plate-free method, 0:25 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V33A2aEgHcw

BTDT more than once It seem to be the law that whenever DH sharpens the
knives, which can be often, I *must* cut myself. Not to the degree you were
discussing - well not all the time anyway

Wow! I like how he sort of supremed that tomato! Beats the heck out of the
often used method of cutting in half and squeezing the seeds out. That
would be perfect for Chinese tomato beef.

I had forgotten that I somewhat recently got a Khun Rikon tomato knife.
With it, I was able to slice a tomato about as thinly as that chef did. It
worked equally well on a red onion, yielding paper thin slices.

Now I suppose someone here will complain about the fact that the chef had a
glove on. But that's what people here do!

I don't normally *knock wood* cut myself but one of my worst cuts was with a
tomato. And yes, it was a dull knife. Not my knife. My parent's knife and
when I was growing up, they were all dull if you ask me! I managed to cut
right through the side of my fingernail and the tomato juice got in there
making it really sting.

Why would anyone complain that the chef had a glove on? I would be more apt
to complain if he didn't.

Well, they were complaining about having to use a plate. I am pretty sure
most of us here don't normally cook with gloves on. I could see that as a
complaint. But I would have to buy the gloves! Then I would have to put it
on! And take it off! And throw it away! And take out the trash!
