Not proof, evidence!!! Big difference, HUGE!!

Proofs are for math, and yeast in baking/brewing. And even the latter
is just evidence!

I've always rinsed mushrooms, and dried them right away... just don't
soak them if you are going to sautee... in soups it doesn't matter. I
use a lot of dehy 'shrooms, and those are soaked.

Those damn mathematicians have hijacked a perfectly good work and taken it away from us scientists! Older usage was "proof" = "test", which still lingers with overproof and underproof, and bullet-proof (originally, armour tested for bullet-stopping ability).

But one can prove any theory worth its salt false. By a Popperian definition of "worth its salt". String theorists might disagree.
