Let me assure you that I have no intentions of picking up a Tasmanian
devil anytime in the near future. That would be one of worst ideas ever!

The programme showed an island where keepers were breeding them ready to be
released onto the main land. Not sure why they would need to do that but I
am sure you will know.

That could be the answer to my previous post as to why they are being bred
on some island!

Beautiful bird!! You are lucky to have them around

Oh yes! Do you think they might be getting too tame? If so there may be
more accidents waiting to happen!

Ya want to get creeped out?
Remember "Ginger" from the "Gilligan's Island" episodes in the 60's"
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ouise_1964.JPG

Well check her out now:
http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/T...Xc-glvzCLl.jpg

And of course, everyone loses their looks as they get old. The creepy
part here is how she's still trying to look young and sexy.
splat/FAIL! She would look much better to me with the gray hair gramma
look.

She looks good for 80 years old... you're just jealous because you're
young enough to be her son but you alreadly look like her grandfather.

Oh Sheldon. she looks hot? She needs to quit trying to pretend to be
young. A "sexy" 80 year old lady (like in that pic) is just wrong.

really?

I'm pretty sure she doesn't need to do anything of the sort.
She likes the way she looks, that's okay with me. I think she
looks fine, especially for her age.

So do I. I imagine the pics of the men wouldn't look like sex symbols
either, but...are any of the men still alive?

She looks like she's taken pretty good care of herself.

I think maybe The Professor was the last to go, last

Many sad examples around like that. At least with those who live to be
in the media.

Can't believe anyone would find all the makeup, hair and plastic

That is precisely what she is trying to do though.

She'd look a lot better if she just looked normal for her age.
Women simply *do not* make themselves look like that here, doubly so
for elderly women.

WHY do they need to look like sex symbols at all?
She's an elderly woman who has a problem with growing old gracefully.

They're trying to breed up some colonies in places where there is no
trace of the mystery disease which is slowly killing off the devil
population within Tasmania.

Unless I knew it was tame - I wouldn't either
I've seen what they can do with their jaws...

You could say that. They get used to cars passing by, mostly slowing
down or swerving to avoid them and/or the road kill they're eating.
Same problem with the crows/ravens here. I've hit a couple of them
because they get so blasé... some birds won't even move at all if they
see that you're not actually going to hit them, even if they're a
couple of feet away as you pass them.

>If so there may be more accidents waiting to happen!

Oh, there will be... no real solution really.

I also have to watch out for deer, cattle, sheep, wombats, kangaroos,
devils, possums, native cats and quolls every night. Just how it is.

Yeah. We're pretty isolated here, which is why we get away with it.

But it's her prerogative. At some point past puberty,
most of us stop worrying what other people think of our
appearance and do what we like. People might like it or not,
but she doesn't *need* to stop doing anything.

Whatever they like. I'm sure they don't sit around worrying what
some guy somewhere thinks one way or another. However they are
comfortable with their own appearance.

Yes. Not a lot you can do except try to watch out for them.

No, of course not. Whilst I agree with what you say in principle, but
like many things in life, it's not a black and white and where does
the line get drawn.

We just don't have people that look or think like that here. She looks
like a freak to me, in all honesty. Another Michael Jackson, only to a
lesser degree. I understand it's nothing overtly unusual for certain
places like Hollywood or elsewhere, but not for most of the ROTW.

I can't believe anyone would get cosmetic surgery if they have no
deformities, unless they have some personal issue they'd be much
better dealing with itself than getting cosmetic surgery.

If they were comfortable with their appearance, they wouldn't be
thinking along those lines to begin with.

I think we've all seen examples of plastic surgery gone too far,
but what we think doesn't get to determine what those people do.

I don't have a problem with anyone getting work done if it makes
themselves feel better.

Here I was talking about the women, especially older, you described
as 'here' ... not talking about people having plastic surgery.

I'm not sure if she has had plastic surgery. I think what we are looking at is anorexia, imo.

Okay, I took a look at both pictures. Yes, she is awfully
thin. That doesn't help as you get older. She appears to have lip
augmentation, just my observation. I'm not all that familiar with
plastic surgery, maybe I'm wrong. I think she's likely had a lift
and eye work, and she's really thin.

Oh I make it, every Christmas!

But a law like that would make it legal for me to sell it. Not my
Christmas Candy. That will never be for sale. It's for Christmas only!
But as I rationalized (soundly!) if I make my Chocolate Covered
Cherries for Valentine's Day, then they would not be Christmas Candy,
now would they? ;-)

When we lived in CA, we went shopping at the Presidio (military stores) when
I spied two very familiar looking women in the produce dept. Both looked
pretty identical but I couldn't figure out where I knew them from. I didn't
mean to stare but I must have been because one looked at me strangely.

After I finished grocery shopping, I went across to the department type
store and there was one of them working behind the perfume counter. And
then it hit me! Joan Rivers! Both of them looked exactly like Joan Rivers.
After she had all of that surgery of course.

When I was a kid I was dying to have a nose job. My mom used to go on and
on a lot about how my nose was just sooo wide! I became self conscious of
it.

But then? My great uncle had to have a nose job. His was not by choice but
out of medical need. I remember watching the recovery process and it wasn't
pretty. I decided right then and there that I would just live with my nose.

Yeah, I suppose it is a little wide through the bridge. But that's only a
problem when buying glasses. Some just are uncomfortable. But it must not
be too bad because nobody else has ever made a comment about my nose except
for a little boy once when I was at work. He told his dad that I had a wide
nose and big lips. Thanks kid!

Me? I don't care much. Let people do to themselves what they want, so

My only point was that an 80 yo woman was told she needs to stop
trying to look sexy, and I'm saying an 80 yo woman doesn't have
to be told how to look. That's all.

Goes for everyone. And I'm glad you're happy the way you are.

I agree, but an 80 year old woman trying to look like a 21 year old
and sexy is very creepy to me. It just doesn't work. That's all. Did
you know too, that her weird looks is why she didn't do any of the
Gilligan Island movies, after the series ended. She wasn't the hottie
anymore. MaryAnn won the aging contest.

And I do believe that those two are the only cast memembers left now.

I don't have a problem with that. I have my turn offs, too.

I absolutely agree! I can't understand why anyone would care! Her life,
her body, her comfort. If I don't like the look of someone ... I don't look

My wife, 68 and her sister, 75 are still hot looking. Not that I lust
after one of my aunts, but she has always been an extremely attractive
woman. She will turn 90 this year and still looks good. She looks
better than many 60 year old women.

Another one who looks great is Jane Fonda. Some people think Tina
Louise still looks hot, but I think she's scary looking. Both have
undergone the knife, so they've had help maintaining their looks - but
I bet your loved ones have never even considered doing that.

How do you know she's trying to look like a 21 year old, it may well be the
way SHE'S most comfortable looking. Also, she looks a hell of a lot better
than most of the old cast members without a doubt. :-)
