Default Pan Fried Pork Chop dinner

Last night I made pan fried pork chops with repurposed baked potato,
gravy, and sauteed fresh spinach. Pretty darned good meal.

That international orange gravy looks putrid.
I have four 1" thk slabs of boneless pork loin defrosting, gonna slice
cutlets, gonna bread and fry them, no gravy... but if I did it would
be brown or white, maybe tomato... not puke orange. What is that, it
does not look appetising. I don't think spinach goes well with pork
either... orange with green is definitely doody diapers... TIAD.

Everything looks putrid or like baby doo-doo to you. You insist on
photos then criticize the hell out of them. Who the hell made you the
Grand Poobah of food photos?

No pic here but mashed potatoes, hamburger patties and the leftover onions
and peppers. I swear this is better after it sits in the fridge for a
couple of days. Husband had spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were
purchased. I also made garlic cheese bread with some Ciabatta bread. He
has been working hard putting up new siding so I knew he'd be super hungry.
Daughter purchased a little made up thing of veggies, hummus, pretzels and
fruit. We went out for lunch and she had Carne Asada so wasn't very hungry.

I can't speak for what koko did with the baked potato skins. There are
all kind of ways to use them. Stuffed potato skins (usually appetizers)
immediately come to mind. And yes, they can be frozen.

Thank you! I, personally, LOVE to see the pictures people take of
their meals. I don't expect professional food photographer pictures
unless it's from someone like Sheldon who criticizes every food photo
he sees. HE needs to hit the standards he expects everyone else to
adhere to and so far he hasn't... beginning with that butt ugly plate
he plops his glop on.

She made mashed potatoes from the baked potato(es) and served it with
pan gravy, also spooned over the chop.

You're right about that. However, I no longer feel like indulging

I like it. Unfortunately, I rarely think about it when I make pork
chops and If I do, I don't have any applesauce in the house.

Well, I like them - even if they aren't fashioned by a food stylist.

I usually keep some in but if I don't have any and I have apples, I dice up
the apple and fry in butter and a little brown sugar.

I love applesauce with pork chops, roast pork, pork tenderloin, pork
sausages. I guess I like apples sauce with most pork dishes.

We often grill pork chops in the gas BBQ. Just season with a little salt
and pepper. They are delicious. If you get really thin ones, rob them
with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano and chopped mint.Let them sit
for an hour or two and then grill quickly on high heat. They are incredible.

During apple season, I often make fried apples with pork. I cut them up
and put them in a buttered pan. Depending on the mood, I may add
cinnamon, or star anise, or brandy, etc.

I never have applesauce (or apples) around. That's probably why I've
never thought much about combining the two.

I like applesauce with many meals. Chunky with a bit of brown sugar
added (no cinnamon). This tastes just like my gramma made 100 years
ago from scratch - they had several apple trees and she canned enough
each year to last until the next year's harvest.

Yum! That sounds good.

Same here, sf. I love applesauce with many meals but I often don't
think to add it....or I don't have it here.

I don't think about it because it wasn't a common combination at my
house when I was a kid. We ate pork chops and we ate apple sauce, but
rarely together. Applesauce was dessert. I have apples in the fruit
bowl and made pork chops recently but it never even crossed my mind to
put them together.
