Yeah. Since when is Gwyneth Paltrow an expert on food? Come to think
of it, when is *any* celebrity an expert on anything?

True that. I find the whole celebrity thing pretty strange to begin
with.

This lady is hilarious. I must have the same blender she does.
Loved her label of Gwen as a "noted Veela. Too much.....

Hmmm... I didn't particularly find anything funny about that. Soaked nuts
are good but the trick is to put them in a dehydrator at a low temp to crisp
them back up again.

Not sure what to say about the rest of it as I haven't read the book. Nor
will I be likely to. Unless I find it used for like a penny.

She has been claiming to be for a long time. She had that show with Mario
Batalli where they went around eating everything which I thought was odd
because she claimed to be macrobiotic at the time.

I don't understand what that means.

It's becoming easier and easier to do. I spent $100 on virtually
nothing at Trader Joe's yesterday and $45 today covered only a little
more than tonight's meal from Whole Foods. Half of it was the salmon
(fresh, not frozen - wild caught, King) and WF was the only place I
could buy it without going on an expedition. Fortunately the meal was
great, so it was money well spent.

Very easy to spend a lot at Whole Foods. But for $120 at Winco, I can get
not only food, cat treats, magazines and soda pop but enough food to carry
us through the week. If I do buy meat there it is only a package or two.
That is not where I normally buy my meat. But I do get canned goods and
produce.

Me either, but some people are easily amused - especially when it's at
the expense of someone else.

I used to watch that for one reason, I find Claudia
Bassols irresistibly attractive. I paid almost zero
attention to the other three.

I guess so. I had to look up the Veela thing. Apparently something from
Harry Potter, which I've never seen and never will.

So, you're willing to spend time reading a book based on it being
cheap? Even though you're clearly not interested in it?

I never said it wasn't easy, but then it all depends on what you buy.
I could do it quite easily myself merely by visiting the delicatessens

I'm blessed to live in a foodies paradise, my average food bill is
about $30-40 per week, mostly coffee, tea, sugar, flour, salt and
dairy.

It was a short series they did about eating in Italy. I think you might have the
wrong slant on it. ;-)

LMAO! Great FUNNY read. I also loved the reference to how long to
grill a chicken at a million degrees.
