Default Lemonade Aid: "Instant" Microwave Syrup

Just a little tip -- no big whoop:

As part of beating the heat, I like to drink homemade lemonade, with
a little sugar -- just enough to cut the acid of the lemon juice.

Sugar doesn't like to dissolve in room temp water, so I have been
making syrup. Just put a half cup of sugar and a half cup of water in a
used jelly jar, stir, then microwave them (in my setup) for 2.5 minutes.
The last half minute, the mixture boils satisfactorily.

Put the lid on the jar, and store it in the fridge.

That's often the way it's done.
