I feel that hot salsa kicks in the immune system, somewhat. Anyone else
have any "home remedies"? I've been fighting off a sore throat / cold
last 24 hours.

Salt water gargling has been around forever, and it works.

No, although hot and sour soup feels wonderful in my throat and the
chili helps clear my nose.

I can make myself feel better temporarily, but there is nothing I
consider a kick start to being cured. Some people swear by Airborne,
my dad swore by a hot toddy (lemonade with a shot of something
alcoholic). Hubby drinks tea with lemon. My sore throats are usually
one of three things:
1. post nasal drip which is helped with a good decongestant.
2. a virus that settled in my throat - which nothing will help.
3. a bacterial infection, which antibiotics helps.

I do what I can do to relieve the pain and let time take care of the
rest.

I didn't see the OP but red bell pepper is the best thing. Eat a piece and
it will go away temporarily. Also gargle with salt water, just as hot as
you can stand it.

I had a sore throat earlier but it's gone now.

Coconut oil is good for pretty much everything!

You're the only one who cares. I've never bought into the aura of
coconut oil and I had peanut and sunflower oil at my fingertips.

I got my gf some malibu rum the other week. I tried a little bit. I
felt like I was drinking suntan lotion.

If she likes it, that's all that counts. Malibu Rum is a flavored
*rum-based liqueur* made with natural coconut extract... next time,
buy real rum for yourself. ;)

Smells like it, too. One of the most offensive stinks I've
experienced, coconut suntan oil on a long sun baked body. Actually
induces a physical gag reflex. 8|

Puss pockets need antibiotics.

I keep some in the fridge all the time. It can be kept in the cupboard
but I prefer the fridge.

I find the best thing for a sore throat is ibuprofen. A sore throat is
an inflammation.

Maybe twenty years ago that would work- nowadays I'd go from a sore throat to an upset stomach with all that hot stuff in that concoction.

That's right! But why it is in there is beyond me. I have some in my
cupboard and also on my computer desk. I put it in my skin.

Ew. Guess they call you oily fingers and not butter fingers.
