![]() I bought a meaty slice of beef shank yesterday and cooked it overnight in my crockpot with mirepoix and some fresh thyme. Hubby ate the meat for lunch with boxed beef stock because I didn't have enough liquid for two meals and basically he doesn't care. He said the meat was tender and flavorful, who am I to argue? Tonight, I am combining the caramelized onions from a few days ago with the stock I made last night to make onion soup (aka in the USA as "French" onion soup). I'll finish it off a little differently with cheese toast or maybe smaller cheese croutons, which will be premade by broiling and float them in the soup. -- All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt. |
