The outage was "only for me"?! This is pretty unbelievable. Yes, her
ES account was the only one affected in the entire area.

There may well have been others but none here that admitted to it as I did
ask. The problem was that they somehow thought I didn't have an account. I
tried setting up a new one but it wouldn't work either. Then late on the
second day they emailed me my account particulars and they were for the
first account. Not the second one.

My point being, this wasn't a wide spread thing.

Hardly, sw. My bread wasn't old and according to the label on yours, it
wasn't either.

Nah. Slapping you down sounds like more fun.

I'm baking an apple crisp. And am toying with making a cornmeal cake to use
up some cornmeal. Although the recipes I see are for a pineapple
upside-down cake and all I have is crushed.

Saw something different on DD&D today... polenta mashed potatoes.
Found a couple of recipes, still can't visualize how it tastes.

Your turn to go lie down. He had moldy bread and it wasn't old.

Ohhhh... Why? My mom said she was taken aback by a dinner at the place
where she lived. She dug into what she though was mashed potatoes under her
meat and it was soft polenta. She is nearly blind so not only probably
couldn't see it well but couldn't read the menu to see what it was. She
didn't like it at all. She does like polenta but is used to eating the firm
kind from the tube.

I just don't understand why you would mix two starches like that,
particularly when there is no protein.

I think my cake came out quite well. At least it looks and smells fine. I
can't eat it and Angela won't. Husband was gone all day. He did eat quite
a lot of the Apple Crisp. Those never last long around here.

I have been tempted to make pupusas with beans but they call for Maseca and
I don't currently have any. They do sell them at my favorite taqueria but I
love the Gorditas so much that I tend to always order those. I love the
tacos too. They have an older woman who stands there all day doing nothing
but making tortillas, sopitas, gorditas and pupusas. We did have what I
think were pupusas with potato filling along with our posole. They were
sooo good but obviously very carby so we each only took one bite. I don't
mind carbs on carbs (within reason) so long as there are beans in there
because then it is a complete meal.

And in his stupidity, he took a pic which clearly showed the date. So we
know it wasn't old. And mine wasn't either. Same situation but when I post
of it, I'm some sort of freak.

Because I would try it, but I only found one recipe that was home
style and not precise enough for someone who has no idea what the end
result should be like.

They weren't separate, they were combined and there was lots of
protein involved - a pot roast. I happen to love soft polenta, so the
combo with mashed potatoes sounded interesting to me.

You can't eat it because it contains eggs? There are lots of polenta
cakes that are eggless and dairyless. Nigella has one, for example.
