Default New-to-Me Bread

I found this at Costco today.
The Essential Baking Company, Organic, Rosemary Bread.

Here's the interesting part. The package says Bake-at-Home.
Stay-Fresh-Package

Fresh For Months, Not Days.
Unlike other breads, our oxygen-free, stay-fresh package allows you to
keep the unopened bread fresh in your pantry for months without
freezing it!
Bakes in 8-15 Minutes.

It comes 3- 17.3 oz loaves to a bundle. for $7.29. Each loaf is in a
cryovac package. It's (by appearance) a brown and serve bread.
My store, in their wisdom, chose to shelve it among the flour and
sugar.

We had it tonight. It was really good, too. The rosemary taste was
just as though I had picked it from my garden. Good luck finding it.
I would have stationed it in the bakery department -- but what do I
know?

I've bought it before. Was a little heavy on the Rosemary. I prefer the
plain.

They've been around for a long time. I posted of the bread you bought last

Most of the stores here sell it. Not just Costco.

I (rarely) buy frozen bread dough and yes, I realize this isn't frozen
bread. But I have to wonder why they come in bundles of three?

When I did bake bread from scratch years ago it was two loaves at a
time. So why the bundles of three? Just curious.

Because it's Costco and most everything they sell is in large packages. I
buy the plain kind at Costco. I know that I bought the Rosemary someplace.
Perhaps not Costco as I sure don't remember buying three. I do remember
that we didn't like the Rosemary in it. There was just too much.

Yeah, well there isn't a Costco within 50 miles of me so I wasn't
talking about Costco. I also wasn't talking about the same shelf-stable
bread JanetB and others were talking about. I was wondering about the
raw bread dough which you can buy frozen, then thaw, let rise and bake.
It always comes in packages of three.

That's nice. Haven't seen it here. I used to buy fresh brown & serve
sourdough (not in a cryovac), haven't seen that in a long time either.

It's *Costco*, everything comes in large sizes there! It's hard for
singles or couples without loads of storage space to buy anything.
Haven't you noticed that in grocery stores, it's not buy two to get a
reduced price anymore - now you have to buy THREE? It blows my mind
that they expect city residents to have that kind of storage...
especially for frozen foods.

My Costco shopping decreased dramatically when the kids left home. We
buy toilet paper, paper towels and Kleenex in large quantities because
I hate continually buying that stuff and it's a good price.
Fortunately, if you don't purchase enough to justify the purchase of
your membership (2% cash back on charges) - they refund/rebate your
membership fee... but you have to ask for it, they won't volunteer.

Yeah, I get that but I wasn't talking about Costco. I was talking about
frozen bread dough that I can buy at Publix. It comes in a three pack -
thaw, rise, bake. Who bakes three loaves of bread? Two at a time is
all I ever baked even when making it from scratch. If I wanted to bake
four loaves, I'd still only bake them two at a time.

I've found that on some items it's still cheaper to buy the larger
size, keep what you will use and share the rest.
Our church has a food pantry for those in need, so I contribute to
that and am still money ahead.

I often donate part of what I buy there if it is too much for me. But some
things that only come in giant containers are things I won't buy. Unless of
course I am making a dish for a lot of people.
