Jack Benny just nailed it, so wry in his delivery and facial mannerisms. I mean at some point, didn't one of your parents or an uncle buy a car from a guy like Phil Silvers? Likely a used one ;-) |

I want it that way. I read about it in the papers and saw the part about the knife found nearby. Any good detective has to know this was murder. A genius like Robin Williams not able to slice through his own wrists? Come on man, tell that to someone else. Someone planted that knife near Williams to bolster the suicide theory. It worked. Who did it? We don't know yet but are looking into several disgruntled comics who angry that Williams received so much undue praise while he was alive. Yes, undue. The guy was not funny. He was an actor playing the role of a comic. Anyway, the guy is dead and I don't care, other than to say I love when famous people die - it's a thrill reading all the schmaltzy farewells from others in the same asskissing field of show business. I love it. It's like the Jerry Lewis telethon, it carries that same vibe of enjoyment. But the Robin frenzy will soon die out and there will be a lull until some younger famous person dies, and when that happens I can only hope I know who that person is so I can enjoy the event and not be denied my voice at the water cooler. Hanging has got to rank right up there as one of the most gruesome ways to go. What a horrible image to leave your family. I cannot pretend to understand the level of his depression. But I do think it would have been kinder [for his family] for him to find some other way... Jill |

He exercised to decrease his depression and with Parkinson's, he would have reached a stage where he couldn't do that. How about a shotgun to the head and have brains and skull pieces splattered everywhere? Sadly my own SIL hung herself only a few months ago. I don't consider suicide a selfish act like others here have said. When you are that bad off, you just want to end it all. It's pretty much your own life which you have control over. Very sad situation in all cases. G. |

Same thing with finding someone hanging. I'm sorry about your SIL. I still think it's a gruesome image to leave with your family. I knew Robin personally. Robin was working on a new act where he would pretend to strangle himself with a belt on stage. Suicide was not the culprit, perfection was Robin's undoing. He was using "the method" to get into character with the belt and went too far. He went so far into character he never came out.

Suicide is an interesting topic, very intriguing. People talk about suicide a lot, even those who will never do it. Who among us has not engaged in joyful discussions about how we're going to do it when the time comes? Most interesting is, talking about it is just that - talk. Doing it is something else. You might spend you whole life thinking you'll go with pills or a gun to the head when the time comes. You might go your whole life convinced that jumping off a tall building is a method you will NEVER use. But when the time arrives you will not be the same person you were when you sat around theorizing about it. The moment will seize you in it's sudden embrace. When you're nuts, there aint no ifs, No ands, no buts You gotta do what you gotta do Blow out your brains Or jump into a lion cage At the local county zoo.............. I call that "Death Poem" #1, more are on the way TJ |
