Okay. You and I have very different opinions then.

Like I said. There was no searching. She knew what she wanted and she got
it. Apparently what she wanted was readily available.

*Goes to dictionary.com* To confuse, bewilder, or stupefy. To make obscure
or unclear. Or perhaps you meant to darken? I have no clue. I made the
comment that I did because it sounded like you two thought that you had to
get them online. Frankly I didn't even know that you could do that, nor
would I. Just seems simple enough to me to go to the machine and get the
movie. I think most of the time when people do get a movie it's an impulse
thing. They see the Redbox and get one. But I could be wrong.

Somebody here implied that it was rude for people to go to the machine and
get the movie. As if they should order them first on their computer. I was
just pointing out that not everyone could do that. And I fail to see how
anyone would think that getting the movie from the machine was rude. Seeing
as how they do have that option.

That's sort of like saying that it is rude to go to Walmart and buy your
goods. You can order those online for in store pickup as well. Many stores
offer that nowadays.

Well, IMO there are a whole slew of people out there who really shouldn't be
voting. But again, that's just MO.

Not surprised. I've read enough to know that the more things change
the more they stay the same.

It is very interesting and hard hitting, including the encroachment on
Native American lands, deals made, Yankees, Rebs, Irish, and a whole mixed
bag of inside dealing shysters. I really like the main character, Cullen
Bohannon. I think you would enjoy it too.

I am on Julie's side on this Redbox thing. I had no idea you could order/reserve a copy of a movie online
and then go to the box and pick it up. I have used Redbox twice, I think, and it is convenient and cheap
for a one-night rental.

But I fail to see why it is RUDE to just go and pick one out while standing in
front of the machine! That is a ridiculous thing to say! Most people I see at a machine, pondering which
movie to rent, are adults with little kids, or couples who seem to be looking for the night's entertainment.

There is a lot of impulse renting involved, and it is far from rude.

How many different movies do those things hold? How do you know if the
red box has what you are looking for? What if you want to rent Little
Miss Sunshine? Or Sweeny Todd? Do they keep movies that old in the red
boxes?

Instead of standing in front of the machine for 5-10 minutes and
squabbling over which movie to get, holding other people up, why not
work it out at home? That's rude.

I was trying to figure out the name of an old movie based on the actors
a couple of weeks ago. I found it and my SO suggested I rent it from
the Red Box. Okay, there's probably a Red Box at Publix but unless it
fell on me I sure wouldn't know. I said to him, honey, the movie was
made in 1962. I doubt they're stocking classic films in those machines.
I'm not interested in the latest Disney release or vampire or zombie
movies. Has there even been a good movie in the last few years?

Them what, pennies?

By Federal Law US banks must accept US coins... only requirement
depending on how many you may need to make an appointment, same as
most banks may require advance notice for cash withdrawals over a
certain amount, I think at my local bank it's $5,000. I use three
different banks, all take coins... the little market in town welcomes
coins so long as they're rolled.

Redbox isn't that busy enough for that to matter where I live. I
rarely see anyone use it.

No, you won't find it. They do new releases and they don't have the
large numbers of copies you used to find in, say, Blockbuster. They
move the 'new releases' out as soon as something better comes along or
rentals drop on a movie.

In my experience they do not carry anything that's even months old
unless the rental volume is high.

I've been behind mom and dad and the two small children. They are
only getting one move and the children can decide which one. Really?
Tears and screaming but no attempt to move away from the box. How
about a couple, three teenage girls? Or a couple on a date?

There have been a few, but you have to hunt for them.

If you google for "best movies from 2010 to 2014" you'll find lists of
them.

I'm with you on the Disney and zombie movies. I also don't have any
interest in action or war movies or "superhero" types of things.

Inside Llewyn Davis was good. Also The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

If you go on line you can choose a movie and find where it is available.
Our small town has at least three locations.

Don't make me laugh. I had a Blockbuster card and John and I were on a
trip out of town. The hotel room had a DVD player so we went to
Blockbuster thinking we'd rent a movie. The clerk at Blockbuster
insisted he had to call home to confirm I was 'allowed' to rent a movie.
I said, "Who do you expect to answer the phone, my cat?!"

Nope. I've seen one man, once. That's it.

Probably, but I don't think 2010 is the best year for movies. I prefer
older stuff. Even black & white, film noir.

Spiderman... give me a break. Kids should go back to reading comic
books. Oh, what do they call them now? "Graphic novels".

Speaking of Hotels... Hotel Budapest was a big disappointment for me.

Er, make that Grand Budapest Hotel. Now you understand my
relationship with movies. I can't even remember their names.

I think I've mentioned this one before, but maybe you haven't seen it:
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011).

I don't believe you... even if there were enough space on a roll of
coins to write all that they already have all your personal info, all
they need is your acct. #.

I thought that one was kinda meh. I'm glad I don't pay to watch them.

I tried to watch that one a couple times but never made it very far either.

It is not rude to pick a movie from the machine! NOT EVERYONE HAS ONLINE ACCESS!!, or did that fact
not register in your brain. Where our Redboxes are, there are usually two together. I have never seen a "squabble"
at a Redbox, nor have I ever seen someone waiting for access. Sheesh, get over it.

You're the one making a big deal of it. I dropped it only to have you
come forward. It also didn't require shouting. Glad you have 2
Redboxes. Not everyone has 2 Redboxes. I guess you couldn't
understand the circumstances that I put forward. However, this whole
brouhaha came about because I said how easy it was to pick out a movie
online. If that gets your panties in a twist, I can't help you. Out
of curiosity, I would however, love to know the percentage of people
in the US that do not have online access in this day and age. That's
the weakest argument.

Well, I am on Janet B's side. There is no reason to be holding others up
while you decide on a movie if you have the ability to reserve it online
first. If a person has an idea of the movie they want that's fine because
it's easy to select it and pick it up quickly, but if you have no idea what
you want and are just standing there trying to make a decision on a movie
you might like for several minutes, I feel that's rude. Now, I do believe
that there are a couple of posters here who never gave a moments thought to
anothers inconvenience in their lives, and I don't mean you. Just a
difference of opinion in this.

I have had that happen more than once, but I do reserve online and try to
pick them up when I first get to the store, so if there are people there I
go ahead and shop then come back, but I don't think I've ever gone just to
pick up a movie without having other things to do.
