I ordered McDonald's $2 jalapeno burger and other that too much of the white stuff (whatever it was supposed to be), it was pretty good and I liked the crunch, whatever that stuff was. Jack-in-the-Box has a burger with sliced jalapenos and deep fried jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese. Now that's what I call a great idea. The Mcdonald's burger, while still pretty good, pales in comparison. You can bet that I'm getting it while the gettin' good! |

I read recipes and decided I didn't want to make them because I didn't want to eat a jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese, same applies to the JB burger. I'm fine with the McD burger because I liked the crunch of the jalapeno pickles and their little burst of heat (can't go an hotter than that and keep your wussy customer base happy). I didn't know what the gloppy white stuff was, maybe it was some sort of cream cheese sauce - whatever it was should go away, because it didn't add anything to the mix. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

White cheese-like substance must be in fashion these days. The white stuff in cheese poppers is material of unknown origin. I'd rather have some cheese or even Velveeta in there but I don't make those decisions. No matter, I think I'll have another the first chance I get. |

White > cheese-like substance must be in fashion these days. If that was white cheddar, it was very, very odd because I order their one from their $1 menu with grilled onions and white cheddar and the cheese is nothing like that. The white stuff on my burger was more like crema (without the flavor) than their white cheddar. In any case, it was at the top of the burger and cheese is at the bottom This web site leads me to think it's a "cream cheese sauce", because it didn't taste mayonnaise. http://www.theimpulsivebuy.com/wordp...arter-pounder/ Like I said before, it needs to go away because it doesn't add anything to the mix. It was probably whatever the white stuff here is, but in a much larger amount - at least 5 times more. http://www.grubgrade.com/reviews/rev...rom-mcdonalds/ After all that whining, I will order it again anyway... maybe even this week (but at a different location). > -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I was pleasanty surprised. I wouldn't make them at home because I hate deep frying but I've had them as appetizers in restaurants on occasion. They're quite tasty. BTW, the jalapeno poppers I've eaten aren't at all spicy. If you're looking for the bite of peppers, poppers won't do it for you. Jill |

He talked about how they had first experimented with hot peppers back in the late 60s and early 70s and people were reacting to Jalapenos as if they were pure fire, but now find Jalapenos to be very mild. |

That white stuff has been described as ranch sauce and aioli. My guess is that it's supposed to counteract the acidity of the pickled jalapenos - will do some more research on this question. I like these new cheap sandwiches at McDonalds. :-) |

I did come up with the idea of maybe adding crab meat to the cream cheese mixture to make poppers. But then, I don't like deep-frying so that's not likely I'll try to make them. BTW, I don't think the cream cheese filling is just plain cream cheese, it probably has some seasonings. Jill |

My poppers are either grilled or baked, and I like to stuff them with oaxaca and cream cheese, 50/50, adding a little Mexican oregano, salt & pepper. I have also used monterrey jack and mozarella. I also wrap mine with bacon. It is a good, low carb appetizer that offers a little protein. Becca |
