I'm still negotiating with them for a partial refund on shipping as they
did not "automatically " upgrade me to "express shipping" as the fellow
said, but I did get the cooktop today.

I put a small stainless skillet on it, turned it on to 375 and put some
diced bacon in. It began to sizzle immediately! Impressed. Added some
chopped onion and it started cooking right away.

When the bacon and onion were cooked, I rinsed a big handful of organic
baby spinach leaves and threw them in the skillet. Cooked down really
nicely and de-glazed with a bit of balsamic vinegar. Very nice veggie.

Sliced grilled rib-eye and some of the corn and bean salad I made the
other day.

I read the "recipe book" and I've never seen a more useless one in my
life. It is handy for temperatures and operating the cook top, but for
nothing else.

Anyway, I'm quite happy about how cool it operates and so easy to clean.
Just cool it off and wipe with a wet cloth.

More magnetic adventures to come!

Sounds like money well spent! I have to laugh at the "recipe book".
Most of the ones that come with small appliances are pretty useless.

Himself much prefers the induction hob! I like how it doesn't heat up
the kitchen as much as a standard gas or electric burner.

YEOW! I will never complain about the cost of bacon again.

Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them.

I don't eat bacon but this morning I noticed Oscar Mayer bacon at
$3.99/lb. They had skinless boneless chick breasts for $1.99/lb, got
two big packages, 'bout 3 lbs each. I just don't see the lure of
bacon, it hasn't much food value, it's just salty fat.... I'd much
rather chicharrones.

Even better is cueritos from pernil:

And you harbor similar misgivings about salt pork and pork belly?

Wow.

You're missing out.

Last week at Wegmans I was seeing it for 3.99 per pound. I would have
bought some but for some reason I have way more in my freezer than I can
use in a year.
