I feel bad for her because it was not her time. She had years of life ahead
of her. Few 81 year olds are as active and spry as she was.

Well put, it's what I thought, too. No way should she be gone
now, she was so vital.

I've been hoping all week that she'd just get better. I
really liked her.

shout it from the rooftops.

It seems the surgery center where the incident occurred is under
investigation now... not good...

I had no opinion of her until I saw her on Graham Norton (UK
edition). Then I realized she wasn't just a cartoon of herself.

I believe she would have laughed at that.

This is my favourite eulogy, John Cleese at the funeral of Graham
Chapman.

I have had a lot of thoughts about that place all week.

None of them good. I have a lot of questions that I hope the
authorities have, too.

At least she faced that surgery with hope and I think that she never knew her death was imminent.

Read book "Bouncing Back" and see a different and hopeful side of her. Her life was not all roses, but her positive outlook never ran low.

I hope she's in a better place.

I just remembered something about the private Joan. I had a telephone dealing with her once on a business matter - you couldn't miss that voice and I never let on that I knew it was she. She was polite and businesslike, a different facet of her persona.

Her time wasn't up. She was killed by a botched medical procedure.

Pete, it is usual when there is a death associated. She suffered cardiac arrest there.

My mother had the exact same procedure done in 2011 at the age of 75. It
was treated like a full scale surgery. The center Rivers was in had no
means to resuscitate and probably should not have been doing this procedure
on people her age.

And you know this how??? Is 75 the magical cutoff age to have this procedure done? If so, your mother was lucky she just made it in under the wire.

If they ask, I am there. The doctor who killed her has a bad record. The
clinic is being investigated.

Your maw wasn't but 6 years younger when she supposedly had the same procedure and you still haven't told us how you know J.R. was too old. Your mammy wasn't a Spring chicken when he poked an 'instrument' down her gullet and somehow she miraculously survived this 'operation' that by all rights, according to your blathering, she should have keeled over right there in the doctors office. It must have been a 'soft instrument.'

Yes, while any surgery has risks, especially general anesthesia, it
seems that this surgery center was not properly equipped to deal with
emergencies at a minimum and may have been well below standards in other
ways.

Even the best doc can do nothing wrong and still have bad outcomes. I
recall when Kanye's mom died after cosmetic surgery, that one seemed to
fade from the headlines, likely because they found nothing had been done
wrong.
