Diet drinks may have zero calories but those artificial sweeteners are
not necessarily sliding through your digestive system unnoticed. According to new research, sugar substitutes can change the guest list at that bacterial party in your intestines known as your microbiota. The researchers who made the finding say that in mice, at least, this disturbance in the internal ecosystem actually raised blood sugar, thus defeating the purpose of these products by increasing risk for type 2 diabetes and obesity. http://www.forbes.com/sites/fayeflam...ndly-bacteria/ |

Not being specialists, and not in possession of blood work (as if we could even read it), I suggest we leave that to the professionals. People smoke, drink alcohol, ingest toxic substances every day. If they want to do that, you can't stop them. You can't even stop them from voting Conservative even though all evidence points to the fact that that is against everyone's self interest, not to mention the common weal. *sigh* -- Socialism never took root in America because the poor there see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarassed millionaires. - John Steinbeck |

And then a few days or a few weeks later, another article will be posted stating why that one was wrong. I don't pay much mind to them unless unless I see the same information coming from numerous sources. So far that hasn't happened. Not with diet sodas anyway. |

You share a lot more personal experience and feeling than most, and that leads to unnatural fixations and attachments. At the other end of that equation you also are likely the most read poster here, so your method is not madness. It just has its costs. Pity too. |
