I am SO wanting to find crowder beans, but the store I shop at most
often doesn't even have them in the frozen section. Not a prayer of
finding them with the dried beans.

Please tell us more about this warehouse where you found your beans!

What you have are crowder peas (cowpeas/blackeyed peas):
