Leg of goat, freshly roasted, shredded
Flatbread Onion, sliced Lettuce, shredded (cos lettuce is good) Tomato, sliced For sauce: 3 heaped tbs almond meal 2 tbs dried chilli flakes 2 tbs cumin powder 1 tbs coriander powder 1 tsp cardamom powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder oil for frying 1 tbs crushed/minced garlic 2 tsp crushed/minced ginger 3 tbs tomato paste dash of malt vinegar 2 tsp sugar Dry fry the almond meal and dry spices, until the almond meal is lightly toasted but not burnt Fry garlic and ginger in oil, and add the other sauce ingredients (including the almond meal and spices), with water as required to make a thick sauce. Stir while heating for a few minutes. On flatbread, goat, onion, lettuce, tomato, sauce. Roll up, eat. Could call these goat kebabs, if one is willing to get into kebab definition wars. The only leftover was a small amount of the onion (it was a large onion). 3 people, 8 flatbreads. My son ate 4 - he liked it. |

The last time I had any was bought from a roadside food stand in Jamaica... Jerk Goat. It was pretty good, but the Jerk spices were strong enough that you really couldn't tell if you were eating goat, beef, pork, etc. George L |

She hired a lot of "latino" workers to help clear off the land around what I'd call a cabin. (Admittedly, she and her husband were a little strange. Kind of Firefox Books strange.) She had this wonderful idea. She thought she'd host a goat roast. For all the people she'd hired. She was going to serve roasted goat because she thought she would be paying homage to their heritage. She invited all the workers to come to dinner. Imagine her surprise when only a couple of people showed up. She thought she was honoring them. I'm pretty sure they thought she was a pretentious gringa. :-D Jill |

Most of the butchers around here who do sell it have it frozen. Halal butchers often have it. We got this from a butcher with a diverse range of meats (and a diverse range of customers). Apart from the usual meats everybody has, they have a big range of offal (all kinds of tripe, intestines, chicken hearts, chicken feet, etc.) and less common meats (pigeons, goat, crocodile, etc.). They have good smoked pork. We also got some good pork belly, which made very nice Dong Po pork. |

The stores in areas with a lot of Italians tend to stock more lamb and veal that some of the other stores. |

I tend to buy the cheaper stewing lamb in the summer months when its cheap and freeze it for the winter for stew and Scotch broth. Cherry |
