Default What's Up with Pretzels?

Surely (hopefully) it's like the cupcake craze.

Pretzel buns. Pretzel rolls. Even some ridiculous looking ad for a
chain serving pretzel dough pizza. (Topped with some sort of cheddar
cheese sauce that looks like it comes out of a can for 50¢ ball-park
nachos.)

When I turn on the TV, it appears the US has suddenly gone crazy for
preztel dough everything. WTF?

I like pretzels as an occasional snack. I've eaten hot doughy pretzels,
too. Delicious! I tried to make soft pretzels from scratch once. I
failed. I didn't realize at the time they are like bagels; they need to
be boiled before they're baked. (I was about 17 at the time.) I didn't
have a recipe, I just tried to cobble one together based on bread dough.
I wound up with crispy baked pretzels. :-D

Back to the point. Who wants all this pretzel dough stuff? More stupid
marketing. And people will surely buy into it.

Jill
