Ah yes, that's it! Here's the TV spot:

This is what prompted my little rant. Looks pretty disgusting, doesn't
it? But hey, it's a pretzel dough crust! The latest fad in all things
pretzel. LOL

How about Sonic? Hot dogs on pretzel buns with bacon and that crappy
yellow cheese sauce again:

Nope, sorry. These ads don't make me want to rush out and buy anything.

I have seen that ad. Pretzels used to be one of my favorite snacks, but
that Sonic ad sounds nauseating--and some of the ads for items like pretzel
buns for hamburger actually sound like they would be difficult to eat. I
suspect that this is one of those fads (if it even reaches the level of a
"fad") will be short-lived.

I certainly hope it's short lived, Mary. Pretzels are one of my
occasional snacks. I like Snyder's of Hanover sourdough pretzels.

Ads are just a way of getting their name out there. For the past
couple of years, Mountain Mike (pizza) has been advertising on sports
shows. The name meant nothing to me and I wondered why they were
spending so much money on something I never see. Then a few weeks
ago, we were in a small community about an hour away and what did I
see? Mountain Mikes. We were headed over to meet people for lunch
elsewhere, but if I was just driving along and feeling hungry - who
knows? I might have gone in and ordered a pizza out of pure
curiosity.

Yes. It's called 'advertising' and the concept is fairly well known by
most people these days. But thanks for explaining it to us.
