Buffalo in the used meat bin

Stopped at the grocery on the way home last evening.
Of course I always check the used meat bin. Grabbed a pack of three Buffalo boneless rib eye steaks.

Put two in the freezer and had one for dinner. Did it with just salt, pepper and some garlic in a cast iron skillet, cooked medium rare with a nice crust on it.

Tender, very tender, and really delicious.

That was a great find. The only buffalo meat I've seen lately is
ground.

How much per pound? That meat is very pricey.

I don't remember, and I've thrown away the packaging. But I do know that it was marked down to about $10 for the three steaks. And they were nice big steaks.

Ain't it the truth! I've not seen any buffalo steaks here yet, but have occasionally seen it as hamburger and it was pricey.

I think it is $8.99 at Costco. I saw steaks somewhere and I think the
price was just shy of $20 per pound. I used to buy bison years and
years ago and it was the same or less than ground beef.
